Alright friends, we wanted to bring up something. We haven’t spoken about the change at GBHS recently. They have moved their feral cat program over to an appointment based model woth limited availability each week. We know they had valid reasons for this and we can’t blame them. The volume they were doing each week was astronomical. That being said, it has really crippled us. We are having to be very strategic about booking appointments and figuring out which project to work on.

We are trying to come up with other sustainable ideas as well, but nothing is jumping out at us. We are looking at grants, fundraising, sponsorship, etc, anything to help us continue fixing these kitties. Just because surgery isn’t as readily available doesn’t mean the cats aren’t gonna keep multiplying. I guess that’s our biggest fear. Not being able to keep up with the needs. Because let’s be honest, we were barely breaking the surface before all of this. So, stay tuned. We will figure something out. We always do 🙂

It’s been really busy over here, but I wanted to let everyone know that the dog who was attacking and killing cats is GONE. This colony is safe for now. I know everyone had opinions on what we should do, but we had to go about it the correct and legal way to actually get the issue resolved.

Also, check out this cutie! He is the sweetest little man. He has traded out his feral colony card for a scratch and dent potential! He’s looking for a new home now 🥰

Sharing this again because we haven’t reached our goal yet! They’re hopefully going to be trapped this weekend, see the vet at the beginning of the week, and go to their new forever home 🥰

Exciting news! The last three OG Apartment kitties are gearing up to move TOGETHER! We are so happy this little trio can stay with each other. Their new home does want them vetted and checked out before they move, so we are hoping to raise funds to cover that. It should be a vet visit of $100 each. They’re all fixed, but will need a general visit and flea treatment. After Birdie, Half-Mustache, and Obi move out I will be officially closing the chapter on my first colony spot. It’s bittersweet, but life moves on and so will I. All of our sweet girls (and Obi) will be safe and get to live their lives in the best way.

Little Wolf and Tubby are enjoying their new home and their new family. We love the fact they got out of the hell hole they were dumped in and are safe to live out their lives ❤️

This week has been hell. I’ll get into that later, but I wanted to focus on the positives. So, buckle up!

Our team has been working for weeks now to trap a savvy mama kitty we named Cipher. She abandoned her three little ones after deciding being a single mom wasn’t really her thing. The little ones are finally thriving with their bottle feeder! I’m also happy to report after $30 worth of chicken, five or six attempts, and a whole lot of cussing Cipher has been caught! We were worried she had some issues so she saw our regular vet yesterday. She got the all clear and is being spayed right now. No more babies for her! Cipher is stunning, but absolutely not a fan of humans. So, she will return to her colony to live her best life. And take a sneak peek of her little ones in the comments!

This is Brown Sugar. A sweet boy. The best boy. He was dumped outside like people do. We have been fighting a resident about their dog who has been killing cats. He killed four cats last month. Brown Sugar is unfortunately the first cat he has killed this month. We were able to grab him and take him to be looked at by a vet. They were very upfront about his condition and we made the choice to humanely euthanize him. We are going out to look for his friend who was always by his side now. Rescue is hard. And humans fail them every day. We are working hard to figure out a solution. There are so many cats at this apartment complex who are friendly. They all deserve so much more. Rest Easy Brown Sugar ❤️

You can find Fiona at Gatos & Beans Cat Cafe in Avondale now! She’s been there since Wednesday adjusting to the new kitties, sounds, and people. She is settling in quickly, but prefers you to come and visit her in the back room. She is getting along with the other cats too! We believe she would do well in a home with young, rambunctious kids. I personally feel like she would adjust to dogs and others cats pretty well. She’s a middle aged woman who knows what she wants! And what she wants is love and temptations treats! Visit her and her new friends anytime the cafe is open 🙂

Remember Stuffed Crust? She was Pepperoni’s mama. They were both dumped and unfortunately her other baby was killed by dogs. Stuffed Crust has happily found her forever home with a previous adopter! Her new name is Lizzie. She has the run of the house where she is constantly asking for affection. She loves her humans and is trying her best to make her new cat siblings love her too. This is why we LOVE what we do. The happy endings make it all worth it ❤️

Our sweet, talkative Fiona aka Fee is heading to Gatos & Beans Cat Cafe tomorrow! We are excited to give her this opportunity to make new friends and find a forever home. She’s adjusted to being an inside cat completely and quickly. She’s just a lover who wants a human all her own (and maybe a friend to keep her company). Go visit Fiona and all our kitties at Gatos and Beans ❤️

Can y’all believe Miss Peacock still hasn’t found the right family? She’s spent all of this time at Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue being overlooked because….why?? We aren’t sure. She loves her life at the Haven, but we know she’d love life with a family too.

Take a chance on the ones you wouldn’t usually. The shy ones, older ones, scared ones, stand offish ones. They can make the BEST companions 🖤🖤
