Alabama Safari Park is a 350 acre drive-thru adventure, where you stay in the car and the animals roa This is for your animal's safety and ours.

Interact with our animals safely from your vehicle while exploring our 350-acre drive-thru safari, on foot walking through our village walk-about, up close when feeding the giraffes on the giraffe tower, or in the petting area where you will find all your farmyard favorites. Known for its vibrant blue and red neck, the Southern Cassowary is one of the most eye-catching animals on our safari! Although, no matter how beautiful, these flightless birds possess powerful legs with long, dagger-like claws that can be used as weapons when they feel threatened. Today is International Sloth Day and we're celebrating with 5 Fun Facts about our two-toed sloths! 🦥 Did you know that you can hang out with Flash and Lima? Our sloth encounters offer guests the opportunity to meet, feed, touch and learn more about these cute, slow-moving mammals. One of the best parts of Halloween is the candy! The only problem is, many of these candy products contain palm oil, which is produced on large plantations created by the bulldozing and burning of tropical rainforests. Our sister park, the Gulf Breeze Zoo, is home to a congress of orangutans and Isadora has an important Halloween announcement to share! 🎃 This widespread deforestation is putting pressure on many vulnerable and endangered species, including orangutans. By purchasing products that contain sustainable or no palm oil at all, you are helping to fight for rainforest preservation and these amazing animals. So while your costumes may be scary, buying candy for your trick-or-treaters doesn't have to be!

We’re all tucked in for the night. Thanks for spending the day with us at the Alabama Safari Park. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow. The park is open 9a to 5p with last car admitted at 4p.

We love how gracefully llamas dine. Who are your favorite animals to feed in the Safari drive-thru?

Bison roll in the dirt to remove loose hair from its last winter's coat and the dirt also leaves a protective layer that helps make it more difficult for flies to bit the bison's skin. When it comes time for the mating season, many bison bulls will use wallowing not only as a way to leave scent behind for potential mates, but will actually show off as they roll around, sort of like flexing their muscles at the beach. Their hope is that the female bison will be so impressed by their gymnastics and all the dust flying that they will want to get to know the bull. While we were on a special tour of the park with Curator Kait last month, we got to see Grizzly in action! #NationalBisonMonth

Safari Splash is tomorrow and everyone is getting ready! Bring the family and plan to spend the day with us for the inaugural Safari Splash from 10a to 4p. After you drive through the 350-acre safari, stretch your legs in the village walk-thru. Grab some lunch and relax while the kids cool off and splash around on the water inflatables.
