Did you know baby axolotls tend to hatch from their eggs around 2 weeks?? You can tell if a egg is fertilized by seeing beans form inside

Some information on axolotls-

They can’t leave the clutch until they are 3” or bigger. This typically takes 3 months for axolotls to get this big. With babies we rub them with 100% daily water changes feeding with live food. You usually want a bare bottom tank until the axolotls are 6” than you can move to fine sand:)

NO ROCKS or GRAVEL as they will eat them

Axolotls have very poor eyesight so they aren’t a fan of light

20 G long tank minimum for an axolotl. Rule of thumb is add 10g for every added axolotl.

Sponge filters are suggested or a filter that allows you to control the flow.

Axolotls love hides and plants (fake plants)

Bubblers are a must! Axolotls love bubblers and it’s good for their gills.

Watch the product you use as a lot of fish product is toxic to axolotls due to the aloe. I highly recommend SEACHEM stability and prime ❤️

Cycle your tank for atleast a month before getting an axolotl

Get an API test kit to check water parameters.

Axolotls prefer the water temp range between 55-68 degrees Fahrenheit

Make sure you’re tank are always cycled before adding an axolotl.

I suggest doing weekly water changes of 25 percent to keep water parameters good.
