Successful transport of two very lucky puppies to our rescue partner in Austin. With all of the shelters overflowing we are grateful for any help we can get. Our mantra has never been more appropriate than now "Saving just one animal may not change the world, but surely the world will change for that one animal."

Another successful distribution day at Cottonwood Shores. Lots of cats and dogs will have full tummies!! Always the second Wednesday of every month, next distribution day is September 11 from 4-6. We are also helping with pet food at Sharing the Harvest Pantry in Kingsland and Burnet County Meals on Wheels. Meet Levè:
A Sweet and Smart Border Collie Mix in Need of a Loving Home
Levè is a 7-month-old Border Collie mix who was rescued from the shelter and is now looking for her forever home. She is incredibly smart, very sweet, and eager to please. Levè loves to learn and is always looking for new activities to keep her busy. She is already potty trained, making her a perfect indoor companion.
Unfortunately, Levè’s current living situation is not ideal. She lives with my elderly mother who, due to health issues, cannot provide the level of activity and engagement that Levè needs. Without a yard to play in and with limited opportunities for walks and exercise, Levè is getting bored and needs more stimulation to thrive.
Levè is up to date on all her vaccinations and flea & tick medication, ensuring she is healthy and ready to join a new family. She has a gentle and loving nature and would do well in a home where she can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and, most importantly, lots of love.
We are praying to find a good home for Levè where she can be happy and active. If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal and intelligent companion, please consider giving Levè the loving home she deserves.

365 Pet Connection Pet Food Pantry and Sharing the Harvest Food Pantry in Kingsland

Thanks to the wonderful donations we have received from our matching funds challenge sponsored by Geneva and Roger Dalton, we are now able to help another local pantry that has reached out to us for help.
We are now supplying dog and cat food twice a month to Sharing the Harvest Food Pantry in Kingsland, 3435 W Ranch Road 1431, Kingsland, TX (located next to the First Baptist Church). Food Distribution is every Thursday from 9 – 12. You can follow them on Facebook or contact them at (325) 388-0620.

Calling all Lab Lovers!!!

This is a courtesy post for a good Samaritan who saved a life and now needs to find a good home for tis guy. Here is the story:

I found "Nick" a few days ago while I was on a walk...he had been abandoned/dropped off in an upscale neighborhood with no collar and no microchip. He was lost, confused and terrified. He started following me, so I brought him home. Once he realized he was safe, he started coming out of his shell and he is sweet as can be! He is a gorgeous Lab, clearly a purebred, 65 pounds, young (maybe 1.5-2 years), and would make a great companion to a Lab lover. I like his taupe-colored nose (not black) and bronze- colored eyes -- nice markings and good disposition! He's very smart and is already picking up a few commands. He's not hyper, just curious and he enjoys long walks. I'm not in a position to keep him, otherwise, I would! I've had Labs before and this one seems like a special dog. I want to be sure he gets a good home!

We are so proud to announce the formation of our new 501 (c) 3 animal transport company FIREPLUG FREEWAY. We are looking forward to our inaugural transport to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday July 27, with 15 deserving dogs who will get a second chance at a wonderful life.
Our inaugural trip is dedicated to the memory of LUNA, our partner's beloved pet who has gone over the rainbow bridge.

PUPDATE: Hopper has blossomed into a fabulous little guy at 9 weeks of age. He is full of joy and wants to follow you everywhere! Thankfully he seems to have grown out of his issues. He can hear and see just fine. His gait has improved and when he wants to be speedy the hopping begins. Enjoy!
