Over the weekend I attended my first Californian Rabbit Nationals in Ohio. I brought two rabbits with the idea that I was going to gain knowledge and experience. I ended up placing 6th Intermediate Doe and 8th Junior doe out of some large classes. I was pleased to break the top 10 with rabbits I bred and raised

Big thanks to all who have helped me learn rabbits and shared breeding stock! Its been a fun ride so far and I'm looking forward to continuing breeding. After a couple years my photo taking skills of my rabbits are still not the greatest, but you get the point.

I'm not much for showing at spring shows, but decided to go to the APA semi annual hosted by the Delmarva poultry club in Delaware. I was able to get together a handful of birds for the show.

Biggest congratulations goes to my friend and traveling partner for the weekend, Jake Wilson, having reserve show champion with a Welsh harlequin drake. He has done an impressive job conditioning these birds over winter for spring shows.

Comgratulations to Elizabeth Wilson. Last year when I wanted to show in California I entrusted her with some of my young geese...when the show was over I hoped she would take the birds home and continue to work with them. Over the weekend she sent me a message showing that she has RESERVE WATERFOWL on a Tufted Roman gander in California! Congratulations!

I enjoy hearing when customers do well. Was also told some Campbells that originated from here did well in Louisiana! Thank you all for sharing your success stories.

Haven't taken the time to post about the IWBA National in Nebraska the other weekend....

Walked away with Best and Reserve light goose on Tufted Romans. Best was an old female and reserve was an old male. I believe I counted about 70 geese in this class. She ended up being reserve goose.

Over the weekend I attended the Nebraska State Show where they hosted the American Langshan Club National.

I dont remember all the numbers, but I know in Bantams there wer 40+. I managed to walk away with BB and RB. BB went to a black pullet and RB a black cockerel of mine.

I also managed to walk away with BV and RV bantam whites and RV bantam blue.

It was a good day for me showing Langshans....because my young trio was champion bantam trio and I had reserve display of the show.

Lastly, I was very excited to bring out a few large fowl whites. When I wanted to get back into large whites Tim Ballanger helped me out and I showed 2 pullets I hatched earlier this year. One of my white pullets was RB in the large fowl.

Thanks to NSPA for putting on a great show. This has become one of my personal favorites. Also thank you to the ALC for the awards!

I had the privelage of ring judging runner ducks this past weekend at the APA Canadian National meet hosted by Ontario Poultry Breeders. Over 100 runners and most of them were white. After the show many told me that they felt bad for me! Don't feel bad! I loved it. Of course it can be tiring, but I enjoy those large classes!

Now the geese are finally starting to look like something again. I caught this gander sneaking around me today and decided to snap a photo. Last years hatch and probably one my favorite ganders I've hatched in a while. I love his style of body....not snake necked and even dual lobes.

Im always proud to hear of success with birds that originated here or whos parents originated here. Congratulations to Ciara Waltenberg on winning the Wisconsin State Fair junior show with this Langshan female! Hot day! Very well conditioned. It sure brings back memories thinking about when I used to show there as a youth.

I know some others have done well at fairs and other shows. I love to hear updates and to be informed of your wins!

Buff runner young female caught my eye today. After having heavily considered getting rid of these for the past few years this bird made me feel a lot better today. Maybe I'll show some this year.
