So what now? We’ve tried again and gotten the same result. Nothing. No home for Icee. This is the third time we’ve put him through the program because we couldn’t bear the thought of him going back to the shelter. We never want a dog to go back because they don’t do well without the attention and interaction they get here. Who would? And he would go to the Humane Society of Independence County, which is struggling to recover from a tornado. The plate is full in Batesville.

We can’t figure out why Icee hasn’t been adopted. He’s a handsome, sweet and honest boy. Look, if we didn’t think he was outstanding, we wouldn’t keep trying. But Icee is worth the effort. He’s wonderful. A one-year old yellow lab mix, he weighs 68 pounds. Icee is a golden dog with a golden personality. He does not need to go back to a shelter that’s rebuilding. Icee needs a home that’s as good as he is, which is worth every ounce of the effort. And then some.

Update

Owner surrender male Husky Puppy. Available NOW. Plays rough with small kids and has "sharp puppy teeth".
Seriously, this guy is so sweet and well behaved.

Mondays, what more can you say?

If you don't want a dog and all they might encompass, don't adopt a dog. If you see a dog, bring it home, be ready for things to be chewed on and it to possibly not know where to potty in the beginning. We hurt for the five dogs, who have been brought in JUST this morning.

We are so close to full. If you bring in a dog, please know we have so many strays and court case dogs who are on holds this could possibly put us in a very bad way. Owner surrenders do not have to be held any amount of time. Your dog could be in danger.

REX, featured here is a free adoption. A couple adopted him in January. He's almost fully grown but they decided he's way too big for them. They thought he was going to be smaller, so, they brought him back.

He's currently in a ball on the cold concrete floor, confused and not understanding he's been given up on..

Come adopt Rex. He's a 10 month old Lab who is fully vetted. We hurt for him.

We're at 319 Davidson Drive and are open until 5:00 PM. We have three other dogs just like him, all free adoptions.
