On November 9, 2013, Dixie Ann came to live with us. For the past 7 years a morning walk has been a part of our daily routine. If I sat at the breakfast table too long, she would begin barking until I got up and got the leash. About a month ago, she begin having difficulty making the mile we walked every morning. Two weeks ago I had to pick her up and carry her for the last two blocks. The vet said her heart was playing out, and we stopped trying to take the morning walk. This morning, she didn't greet me when I got up. She was on her bed. She had passed during the night. This is a sad day, and she will be sorely missed. However, I am thankful for the time we had together and for the joy she brought to our lives.
Thank you Rosa and others who are involved in rescue work. You not only are helping the animals you rescue, you are blessing many families as well.
