Another successful trip on the books for 2025. We can’t believe it’s already the middle of February. These are some of the lucky pups who got their ride out of Texas and into the loving arms of adopters and rescues all over New England. Happy lives sweet babies. We’re so excited for you and your new families❣️❣️❣️
Amazing adoptions are what we strive for, for all our dogs and we’re so happy to be able to share with you 2 more wonderful adoptions of our AJC dogs. Sweet Kimber was with us for almost a year before her forever family found her. She’s a typical Shepherd who needed an adopter with Shepherd experience. Thankfully that’s exactly what she now has and she has traveled to Ohio to live her best life. 🐶💖🐾🥰. Precious Freya was with us for about 8 months. She came to us in very bad condition, underweight, not vetted or spayed and heartworm positive. It took some time for us to figure out her medical issues that were causing her to be so underweight. She was finally diagnosed with a Pancreatic Insufficiency, and once the right medication became part of her daily routine, she started gaining weight and became healthy enough to be spayed and start Heartworm treatment. Freya completed heartworm treatment like a champ and has now gone to live in Buffalo, NY where her adoptive family eagerly waited for her for 3 months, until she completed her treatment. 🐶💖🐾🥰. We couldn’t be more grateful to these adopters for giving these amazing dogs the lives they deserve 💖💖💖. Please keep supporting our mission so we can keep saving and treating dogs like these, giving them a new chance at a happy and healthy life with furever families🙏🙏🙏. Every $ makes a bigger difference than you can imagine. For these dogs, it makes all the difference in the world. Meet CONWAY Hi, I’m Conway, a lovable, loving, playful and sweet Labrador/Shepherd mix pup. My story: Here’s what the humans have to say about me: Conway is crate trained, house trained and great with other dogs. His shepherd side shows when he barks to communicate play and when he is ready for breakfast, his lab side is playful but not destructive. Loves kids and being near humans, he is gentle and sweet. Conway is cream colored with a wavy medium coat length. Favorite Toy: Corn on the Cob Chew Favorite Color: Baby Blue Favorite Food: Pretzels. This litter was a “surprise” when a family brought home a dog, not knowing she was pregnant. 4 of her pups were accepted into rescue and completed medical, vaccines, microchip and spay/neuter. The pups have been with a family (including children) since birth. Born June 11, 2024 - each weighing about 35 lbs at 4 months old. DNA tests completed by the foster family said Swiss Shepherd, German Shepherd & Labrador mix. Conway is READY for Adoption: Vaccinated, on prevention, microchipped and neutered. Conway is currently being fostered in Texas but available to transport to approved adopter in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. Meet GINGER💖🐶💖. Meet Ginger, a female Mastiff mix, who is full of energy and love! Ginger is extremely affectionate and playful, but also knows when to calm down and take a nap on the couch (which might be her favourite hobby). At just 1-2 years old (according to the vet), she is still very curious about the world, is calm with spurts of puppy energy, and loves to explore. Ginger is usually gentle during her interactions with humans and other animals. She’s curious about her foster mom’s cat and is learning to be gentle and respectful of the kitty. She has shown no signs of aggression towards the cat, purely curiosity and eagerness to play. Ginger is athletic and loves to run around and play, but is also up for a good cuddle session. She is smart and funny, and you'll never get bored with her around. Ginger is truly a loyal companion and will stick by your side through thick and thin. She loves everyone she meets and even does great with kids. Ginger can be a little bit on the quiet side, but don't let that fool you! She's very playful and gets along with everyone. She is a loving girl who is looking for a family to call her own. She is a perfect companion for someone who is looking for a furry friend who will stick by their side. Ginger is a one-of-a-kind pooch and is a must-have addition to your family!Ginger is dog friendly and plays well with her foster mom’s dogs. She can be a little protective of her toys but loves to play chase and Tug-of-war. Ginger also has a funny habit of chasing her tail sometimes, which is hilarious to watch. Ginger is house trained, crate trained, knows how to use a doggy door and walks fairly well on a leash. Ginger was originally found as a starving stray and thankfully a Good Samaritan took her in. Since then, she h

Hi! My name is Lady, and I am A LADY. Like any true lady, I prefer the finer things in life: people beds, down comforters, pillows, faux fur. I like to get all the attention because I am the cutest girl, and I know it. If you tell me to get in my kennel, I will pretend I think that means your bed, and get away with it. I’m currently just over a year old and at approximately 50lbs, I’m the perfect size to be a family companion that can accompany you on all your adventures. My absolute favorite activity is cuddling and getting pets. I could do this all day every day. I do not like to be left alone for long, so I would do best with someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule where I can get even more attention. It’s not just about attention, I really would love to have a family who will spend time with me, acknowledge me and take really good care of me. Overall I’m very mellow, but I still have a little puppy energy and can be very playful. If I’m around other dogs I want to play, play, play. Because I’m the queen bee, I don’t always take social cues from other dogs very well, especially older dogs who don’t want to play with me. If they growl or nip at me to put me in my place, I don’t always know that I should just walk away. My foster mom is working with me on this. For these reasons it might be best if I’m an only child or have a very mellow fur sibling that will let me be in charge and the cutest one. I like to nest, and I would prefer you to not move my toys from my nest please. I am house-broken, take treats gently, I love my walks, do well in the car and do great with kids. I am friendly on a leash and love meeting other dogs. I haven’t met any cats yet.I love my foster mom and her family, but would be so excited to find a forever family of my own. Lady is currently being
On a very chilly Thursday last week, these lucky dogs (and 1 cat) got to load up on our van, and travel across the country to adopters and rescues all over New England 💖🐶💖. The drive was made difficult by severe winter weather but everyone arrived safely, happy and warm. 🥰🚐🐾
Meet BUBBAS💖🐶💖
Hi there, I’m Bubbas!Could you be my forever family?
Let me tell you about myself so you can see what a wonderful family companion I am.
I am a neutered male hound lab mix. At approximately 75lbs I’m a big boy but don’t let my size fool you. I’m as gentle and sweet as a lamb.
I’m still a young guy at approximately 1-1/2 years old. (The shelter listed my approximate date of birth as 9-22-23)
I’m very healthy and up to date on all my shots and I’m heartworm negative.
Last year I found myself alone on the streets and ended up in a shelter as a stray. This was a very scary time because I ended up on the dreaded “EU list” as a result of overcrowding.
Thankfully my amazing foster stepped up and saved my life by agreeing to let me live with her until my forever family can be found.
I truly am super sweet and friendly dog. I love other dogs and I play with all dogs, male and female, large and small, at my foster mom’s home.
I am crate trained and I know that I’m supposed to only potty outside.
I even get along with cats and am very friendly with all the people I have met.
I may be a big dude but I’m a total love-bug.
I love my toys and goodies. Treats are a great motivator for me to learn new things.
Car rides are so much fun and I behave very well in the car.
I usually sleep in my crate, but I’m also able to sleep loose in the house at night and I know that I’m not allowed to mess with my foster mom’s things.
I’m a medium energy kind of guy and I know my basic commands, like sit, stay, come, etc.
I really wish for a forever family who will make me part of their everyday life.
I don’t need long hikes or marathons to keep me happy and occupied. Regular neighborhood walks and playing in the yard would be great. I’m not yet off leash trained, so a fenced yard would be great. Average exercise and hanging out in your home with cuddles, goodies, and a movie sound like a perfect life!
Meet ZIPPY
Zippy is the sweetest and most easy-going 2 year old male Shepherd mix, with the gentlest of souls.
He is very sensitive and loving.
Truly the sweetest dog, he is adored by both humans and other pups alike.
Zippy was known as the Staff Favorite at the local dog shelter, from which he was rescued.
He gets along beautifully with other dogs and young children. He’s known as “Mr. Sweetheart” at the dog park and loves running and playing with the other dogs but also greeting all of the other humans.
He truly is a “social butterfly”, loving to greet and play with everyone, yet also being respectful of other dogs and avoiding negative interactions.
Thus far, he seems to astutely know to avoid any “drama” at the dog park exhibited by other dogs.
Zippy would do well in a home as an only dog or with other dogs— as long as they are kind and gentle beings themselves.
He does not know how to deal with super high energy dogs or bullies, so he tends to avoid them.
Zippy does have some separation anxiety and likes to have eyes on you at all times. For this reason, he would do best with someone who works from home or could take him to work. We are working on this with him to condition him to the crate and being comfortable by himself.
He is house trained, very social, walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, and knows sit.
He still likes to jump up on people - in the gentlest of ways - to be eye level and give you hugs, but he is learning that most people would prefer him to sit.
He also does not quite yet know the difference between dog food and people food, so he is working on restraining his counter surfing skills.
Zippy is still young and loves toys and playing, but most of all, he prefers cuddling, pets, and to be comfortable and safe with his human family.
He has not yet been tested with cats.
Zippy is looking for a forever family, where he can feel safe & loved, continue to work on his confidence and basic training skills.
