**Save A Life!**

Every year, thousands of cats and other small animals are injured or killed after climbing into car engines. During the winter, cats are especially drawn to the warmth of car engines, but even on warm days, they can seek shelter inside to escape predators or bad weather.

That's why it's important to bang on the hood of your car before starting it, especially if you've parked in an area where cats are known to live. This will give any animals hiding inside a chance to escape.

If you hear meowing coming from your car engine, don't start the car! Instead, turn off the engine and open the hood. If you can see the animal, try to gently coax it out. If you can't reach the animal, or if it's too scared to come out, call a local animal rescue organization for help.

By taking a few simple precautions, you can help save the life of a cat or other small animal.

HE IS THE SMARTEST KITTEN EVER.
I was having a 🥄 spoonful of peanut butter and I got got a red and white boy jumped in my lap and took the spoon. This is SunKist. He will soon be sent to a shelter. I have fallen in love with him. He is the BEST kitten ever. I wish he could stay in Rockport and have a great family. This will be a hard one to see leave. 🧡🐈. Sunkist is a character. Love to play. He is like a energizer Bunny.
This really breaks my heart to send him to a shelter.

When Ellie Mae came to Last Chance Animal Rescue, she not only had heartworms and was very sick, but she also had several puppies that she was still nursing.

Determined to give her the life she deserved, the dedicated staff treated Ellie Mae's heartworms and nursed her back to health. Feeling much better, all that was left was to find a home that would provide Ellie Mae with the perfect life for her. And boy, did she hit the jackpot! 🙌

At the May National Adoption Event, a woman who owned an assisted living home stopped by to meet some dogs. Not long after their meeting, this woman knew that Ellie Mae was the perfect fit. She would get TONS of love from the residents and provide emotional support for them, as well.

Now home, Ellie Mae is LOVING her new life — all thanks to an adoption event! According to her new adoring family, she now has a great sense of purpose, and even tucks them in every night! 💕

Message from Owner: Honestly I just wanted to know if he's okay, if you could get him under control in a carrier please contact me as soon as possible it's been a while since we've seen him but I have a feeling he's out there somewhere.

Description:
Maverick is an older cat and he can be very shy he has kind of a star shape on his face.
After my mom lost him she hasn't been the same we tried really hard to trap him before we left the apt complex but a resident there did not make it easy for us unfortunately.
He's known to be seen in the back of the apt complex under the seen under the steel car ports often fed by a resident there at night. If you live in the area and you have the heart to return him to us it would mean the world to us.
