Kyle was one of four puppies dumped in a parking lot of a hazardous concrete factory. It just happened a foster mom was passing by at that very moment.

Kyle, like his sibling Yeller, is a true delight. He loves to play, and enjoys chews and other toys. He is crate-trained and knows how to walk on a leash. He has mastered climbing stairs and knows when it's time for bed.

Kyle is already on a good routine. Socially, he thrives on interaction and playtime. He has a naturally calm temperament, playfulness, and curiosity. Such a sweet boy:).

Kyle is about 5 months old. Located in Houston, Tx. Transport available to most states with a fee.

It is with sad hearts that we report we lost sweet Athena over the holidays. She had a stroke and it was too severe for recovery. We miss her terribly.

🐶TAKE 2-HAPPY NEW Y….OH, ANOTHER DUMPED DOG⬇️ This small male terrier named RUSTY per chip was, you got it, dumped alone in the Officer Lucy Dog Park NY Eve in Bellaire, TX. His owner has medical issues and had given him away to a random person, who allegedly in turn dumped him next day in the park next to where the coyotes run on the railroad at night. Nice! He will be going to a rescue or back to HH where he was chipped. If you’d like to foster or foster to adopt through the rescue, email [email protected] or message us.

The shelter has a great foster program. They provide the supplies and support while you provide a home.
Or try out the Doggie Date program. While the kids are home, you can take a dog out on. Date, visit the park or any pet friendly establishment (no dog parks). Your date can be a few hours to a few days. It’s a great way to see if your family is ready for a dog.

Hi! My name is Kylo and I’m a handsome husky! You know, the breed of dog that typically loves to run and just can’t sit still for even a second. I do love to go for a nice walk around the block - after all, exercise is important if you want to be healthy. However, after my daily activity, I like to sit and relax, stare out the window and daydream. With me, you get the best of both worlds - the beauty of a husky plus the calmness of a cuddly lapdog. I get along with other doggies I see and I’ll let out a “Woo-woo-woo! to let you know that I’m happy. I’m crate-trained (though I’d rather sleep in the open), house-trained and I’d be a perfect fit for your home...as long as you don’t have cats! I’d love to meet you and your family!

Update - Justice has been adopted!

Justice is a victim of our current culture. Abandoned and living in an extremely overcrowded shelter. No one wants to adopt a big dog so he’s been waiting for months. The stress is taking it’s toll on him and now he’s on the URGENT List ‼️ 2 pm 12/18

Justice has shared his kennel with several other dogs. He’s been a playgroup rockstar, but is now too stressed to enjoy playgroups. Just is a cuddle bug. He loves his volunteers and they love him back.

📝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: Smoke was turned in by his owner on 12/31 for unknown reasons. Unfortunately, Smoke is on the euthanasia list for behavior typical of a cat: growling and dilated eyes but also because he escaped his kennel and was missing until staff found him running and jumping. Smoke is scared. His entire world has been turned upside down with his owner turning him to the shelter and now he's stuck in a cage.

We are 100% certain that Smoke deserves consistent meals, a safe home and lots of love! Please open your heart to Frappe and give him the care and attention that he deserves. Please share this post so that the right person sees it, and please pledge, if you are able, so that rescues have the funds they need to continue their important work.

A1911821 Smoke (Adopt33)- Behavior (Escaped kennel and went missing. Found cat running and jumping all over. Dilated pupils and growling. Safety net was used to capture.).

12/3/2023: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Cat is tense, eyes dilated, meowing, close body, and tail curled around self.

12/4/2023: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When approaching kennel they were laying inside the box together, as I pulled the blanket back they started pressing themselves against each other shivering and ducking their head. They allowed me to reach in and pet them softly.

12/5/2023: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When approaching her cage, Smoke hid her face, hissing and batting me so I covered her with a towel to move her to another cage so I could clean the area. She started mauling so I covered the door of her cage.

12/12/2023: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When I came in this morning. I found Smoke running and jumping all over the place, she had dilated pupils and growling so I had to catch him with the cat net. I put her in the cage and went straight in to drink water.

12/13/2023: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Smoke was covered when I approached kennel; when removing blanket to clean he was pressed against back corner, heavy breathing, whale eyes, pancaked flat against bottom of kennel. Did not move but followed my hands moving as I cleaned around him and shut kennel door, recovered with blanket.

Sweet Lexi was killed for being pregnant, scared,and unwanted by humans. She did not even have heartworms. She was one of many healthy dogs killed this day.

Houston Pets Alive to the rescue for Pasadena Shelter... thank you! Our Athena is an HPA alum, we adopted her with heartworms and agreed to take on the treatment cost so they wouldn't have to.
