ORIGINAL POST: Thanks to the generosity of 67 animal lovers, we have already raised 80% of what is needed in order to get the AC / heating unit in the lobby of our clinic replaced! Thank you to every single person who has already donated!

After years of trucking along and multiple repairs, ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ/๐€๐‚ ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฅ๐จ๐›๐›๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐œ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐›๐จ๐š๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐š๐œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ž๐.

This unit has been in operation since long before we moved into the building in 2014, and it has reached the point where it can no longer be repaired. Unfortunately, it has stopped working right when we're facing unpredictable Houston weather. ๐–๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ก๐ข๐ญ ๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐ฆ๐š๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐š๐ง ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง; our lobby area is constantly bustling with staff, fosters, volunteers, and animals coming and going, so maintaining proper heating or cooling in this part of the building is essential for the comfort and safety of everyone involved.

The cost to replace the unit is $8,035 and so far we have raised $6,476 leaving only $1,559 bucks to go until we can get the unit replaced. We could really use your help to make sure our pets and dedicated team stay warm this winter and cool when the heat hits!

Our AC is out and there is no estimated repair dateโ€ฆso it is HOT HOT HOT in the shelter and our shelter pets need OUT!! We NEED help from RESCUE GROUPS. We are experiencing extreme temperatures and itโ€™s not fair or safe for these babies.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Due to the specialized AC unit, replacement parts are on order but are backordered. The city maintenance department has been GREAT in getting us fans and portable units but we have a large facility and itโ€™s just not enough to cool the adoption and holding rooms down ๐Ÿ’ฅ

UPDATE:
Y'all are awesome to offer fostering! Unfortunately we do not have the man power to facilitate a foster program BUT you can reach out to rescue groups and see if they will pull a dog or cat into their program if you agree to foster for them.
Thank you all for the suggestions regarding the AC - we are continuing to help our pets as best we can with portable units, fans, etc. We have a unique system that requires special parts (we have an AC company already) that are on backorder.
The best way to help is spread the word to help get some animals adopted or into a reputable rescue organization. THANK YOU!!
