We want to address and clarify a previous post in which our SNAP Ingram clinic was incorrectly accused of sending the wrong dog home with a client. The SNAP organization and team work diligently and have established protocols that significantly reduce the possibility of mistakes like the one we were accused of. While we acknowledge that mistakes can happen, the incident discussed on multiple social media platforms today resulted from the dog's owner making an error and family members being confused by comparing photos from different stages of the dog's life.

Thanks to the diligent work of our team and our safety processes, we were able to provide a paper trail, along with photographic and video evidence, to the owner, confirming that the dog she took home was indeed the same dog she brought in that morning. The owner has since acknowledged their mistake and has posted a retraction, as shown below.

We would like to thank everyone who viewed the post and, in a responsible and considerate manner, commented or shared it with the intention of connecting the owner with SNAP resources to resolve the matter positively. However, to those who irresponsibly shared a post containing false accusations, spread hate, insulted our staff, and inappropriately attempted to share employees’ personal information, we urge you to reflect on your actions. Consider the impact of such behavior on organizations like ours that strive to provide affordable services to the community. We also hope you will use the same time and energy you spent today to apologize for your actions.

We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that our organization has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive and inappropriate behavior toward our employees. This includes in-person interactions, phone conversations, and social media language and behavior. Like any other business, we reserve the right to refuse service. While we aim to positively impact as many pets and people in the communities we serve, the safety and mental health of our employees remain a top priority. We will not hesitate to take necessary steps to protect our employees, organization, patients and clients from abuse.

Meet Chucky, the 17-year-old chihuahua who recently visited SNAP for his annual Vaccine & Prevention exam. As a longtime SNAP patient, Chucky stole hearts around the clinic with his tail wags, kisses, and sweet manners. While he enjoys his naps these days, his spirit is as lovable as ever. We are always so happy to see Chucky come through our doors, and we can't wait to see him again soon!

Whether your furry friend is a puppy/kitten, rescue, or an old friend, we have a special spot for everyone at our SNAP clinics!

As our 30th anniversary year comes to a close, we at the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program continue to be deeply grateful for your partnership, as – together we advocate for animals and promote vital efforts to make spay/neuter accessible and affordable.

Your generosity has helped reduce pet overpopulation and has improved the lives of so many companion animals. With your support, we aim to serve one million dogs and cats by 2037, ensuring they receive the nurture and care they deserve.

As we celebrate this milestone, we ask that you "Give the Gift of a Healthy Life" through our year-end fundraising appeal ( snapus.org/givethegift/ ).Without your support, many animals may not receive the spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and preventative care they deserve. Your contribution today can make a life-saving difference—and your year-end gift will qualify as a tax deduction on your 2024 filing.

Thank you for believing in our mission! Here’s to the beginning of another year of compassion and collaboration!
