Nyraâs first visit to SNAP turned out to be quite the adventure for owner Jerica. She had brought Nyra for a Wellness Exam for her initial vaccinations, deworming, and to ask questions about Nyra receiving her spay surgery, expecting a straightforward appointment. To her delight, not only did the visit showcase SNAPâs exceptional service, but it also included an unexpected twistâ
a surprise gender reveal!
Dr. Guillory, with a warm smile, shared the news that Nyra was actually male! This revelation left Jerica pleasantly astonished. It's a common surprise among kitten owners, as discerning a kittenâs gender can be quite challenging, especially if youâre not familiar with the subtle indicators.
At SNAP, weâre here to offer essential, affordable, life-saving services and, when the occasion calls for it, a touch of unexpected fun, like a mini gender reveal!
Stay tuned for an update on Nyra as we hope to see him for his neuter surgery soon!
There is still so much to do to curb pet overpopulation, and we need your help to achieve our vision of a future where there are no homeless dogs and cats.

Ear Tip Removal
Ear Tip Removal is a humane procedure for feral and community cats. Feral cats, who are fearful of humans due to no positive interactions during their socialization period, and community cats, who have had positive human interactions but are ownerless, benefit greatly from this process. Typically born from stray or feral cats, these felines are caught using traps by good Samaritans or TNR programs to provide them with veterinary care. Removing the tip of their left ear during surgery ensures they won't undergo unnecessary spay/neuter surgeries if recaptured. An ear tip is a universal symbol indicating a cat has been spayed/neutered and vaccinated, allowing them to live without the stress of unwanted litters. In our efforts to stop the cycle, this is the best protocol to ensure we follow humane practices.
