It's Sea Turtle nesting season. As Memorial Day approaches please remember to turn off your ocean facing lights at dark or install sea turtle safe lighting. When sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs or when a nest hatches they can get confused on which way the ocean is because they mistake the lights from houses for moonlight. It can disorient them and cause death and sickness. Please help us protect them buy turning off the lights at dark until Oct. 31st. For more information follow the The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center or Topsail Turtle Project.
