WOW!! What an amazing story this is!😻

Sammy was found wandering the streets of Catskill. After he was brought to AnimalKind, we scanned him for a microchip and it turned out that Sammy had an owner!! 🐾
We contacted Sammy’s owner and to our surprise, the owner informed us that Sammy has been missing for 5 years! Sammy’s owner was in total shock (as were we) and immediately came in to pick up the kitty. Sammy went missing from one side of Catskill and was found on the complete opposite side of Catskill! Everyone was so thrilled and so happy to be a part of this amazing family reunion!

Sammy has been on the streets trying to find his way back home for 5 whole years! He is finally reunited with his family and they are all living “happily ever after” again.❤️

Congratulations to Sammy and Sammy’s owner!!

(This is also a great example of how important it is to have your pets microchipped and keeping them up to date with your information)

Here is an awesome update on one of our adopted ferrets!! Winifred is loving her new life!
Happy 2nd Gotcha Day!❤️

“Hi there. Just wanted to give you all another update on the little Albino ferret we adopted from you. Winnifred aka Fred is celebrating her 2nd gotcha day with our family. She has 11 brothers and sisters and is still the happiest little ferret. She shares a condo with 4 other ferrets and is living her best life. Thank you for all you do. It does make a difference.

What a charmer!😻 This is Harley. He is the sweetest boy ever! Harley absolutely loves to cuddle and play with his cat toys! Belly rubs and chin scratches are his go-to. He is just a big orange ball of love.🧡 Harley was transferred to us from the NYC Animal Care Center because he was in need of medical care for his spinal injury. He is all cleared and ready to go home! Are you looking for a kitty that is full of love and cuddles? Harley may be the right fit for you!!❤️

What a great “Empty the Shelters” event!
We sent 31 amazing cats to their furrever homes!😻
We would like to thank each and every one of our adopters for opening their hearts and homes to these wonderful kitties!❤️
Look at all these happy faces! We are thrilled that we were able to partner with BISSELL Pet Foundation and Cathy Bissell for another event! With this awesome partnership, we were able to help get all of these cats a home just in time for the holidays!🎄

“Here are some pics of these 2 characters. Their names were changed, Mickey is now Smudgie or Smudge because of the gray smudge on his nose and Mikey is now AsheBoy. They are doing great and growing by leaps and bounds. Insanity usually begins at just the time when I want to go to bed and one of their favorite things to do is to gallup up and down my long hallway and then launch themselves on my bed especially if I'm in it! They are truly best buds and frequently it is Smudgie who initiates trouble with AsheBoy following close behind.”

We got a cry for help about a kitty sitting in the rain for 2 days on someone's porch in Philmont, NY. Severely dehydrated and hypothermic- she was immediately medical attended and is resting comfy now on a heating pad. If you miss her, contact: [email protected]

New Beginning for CAIRO- he was found paralyzed with a torn tail, literally dragging himself. 2 month with AnimalKind and our amazing staff and he was finally adopted! Thank you ALL who donated to his care! YOUR donation truly makes a difference for a cat in need.

Donald was definitely a character when he was waiting for his furrever family in our office! We are so glad he found a family that he can show his hilarious personality to! ❤️ He always had the most adorable confused face as if he didn’t just knock over a computer.😂 Thank you so much for sending us this hilarious update on your little orange terror! 🥰🐾(I attached a photo of Donald hanging out in our office)
“Regarding Puss in Boots, His name has been changed to 'Donald' as he is an orange monster. He is a terror . He breaks things, attacks everyone and all, he is always in the wrong place at the wrong time and he thinks he owns the place. We absolutely adore him.!. I don't have the ability to send pictures as I am not computer savvy. Just imagine him in the washing machine or the refridgerator or the dishwasher or on top of the cupboards or in the food closet etc... Just when he is about to be thrown out a window he climbs up your lap, rests his head on your adams apple and purrs and hugs you. That is his saving grace!
In conclusion... he is spoiled rotten, runs the household and life is so much more comical with him around. (By the way, I do all the animal care here, and he would walk over my dead body to get to my husband. He follows him around the like a trained dog. They are both a little disgusting!)”

Here’s a fun fact that I bet you didn’t know!🥰🐾
Meet Mayor Stubbs. When Stubbs was little, he was found in a box full of kittens in the middle of a parking lot.
Later on in his life, he became honorary mayor of the town of Talkeetna in Alaska.
He was the honorary mayor from 1997 to 2017!
His name was Stubbs because he didn’t have a tail!

Like these two who just found their way to AnimalKind to be fed, warmed and medically attended by our fantastic team. Weekends or holidays-AnimalKind NEVER turns away a feline in need.
