This photo came up on my memories, and I shared it on my personal page. I got Taureg 18 years ago, in 2005, and it is so hard to wrap my head around that now. How much we did, how young we both were, and how hard I was on myself (and shouldn’t have been). It brought back memories of all the amazing people that were part of our journey. The best times of my life.

But most importantly, it made me feel so grateful to still have Taureg in my life, and to have him at my own farm where he will live out the rest of his days.

We have to love our old horses. Love them even more than when they were young. ❤️

FHF Employee Spotlight - Tux

Tux is the full-time barn manager, greeter, and mascot here at Fox Hollow Farm. His happy place is riding in the wheelbarrow and sitting on the top shelf in the feed room. He is the main focus in all of my real-job Zoom meetings, and he loves his wireless fence collar because he knows it keeps him safe!

Remember that time when it was really muddy everywhere, and everyone said, “don’t worry, everyone’s pastures are muddy,” but we didn’t accept that answer, so we tore out all the pastures, and everyone thought we were nuts, and we did all the really hard work and now they look like this? 👌🏻🤩

2022- The first full year of Fox Hollow Farm. It was a roller coaster of the best times and the worst times. Never in my life did I think my dream of owning a barn would come true, and watching it happen was surreal at times. From the excitement of seeing my dream come to life, to the crushing depression of injuries, surgeries, and setbacks, I learned the true meaning of resilience. To my parents who put me on a horse 27 years ago and sacrificed everything to keep me on horses, even when the rest of the world told me to quit. To my husband who had no idea what he was signing up for, but loves me anyway. To everyone that supported me when I woke up one day and said, “I’m going to build a barn,” and never questioned it. To the friends that became family. To the horses, cats, chickens, and ducks who came into our lives and made them better, and the losses of our beloved friends along the way. To no sick days, no vacations, and no free time. I wouldn’t change it for the world. Cheers to everyone that makes it possible and loves these crazy animals as much as I do. Happy New Year from Fox Hollow Farm 🦊
