Moo is a precious 2-3 year old girl who adores people! She weighs approximately 45 pounds. We don’t know for sure what her breed makeup is, but we suspect she may have some boxer and bulldog in her. Moo is in a foster home with several other dogs and does great with everyone. She loves wrestling and running around with other dogs her size. She does not always like to share her chews or food with other dogs though, which is understandable. Moo is a MAJOR cuddle bug and LOVES a good Netflix movie. She’ll curl right up next to you on the couch or the bed. She would love to find a home where she can have the best of both worlds – play time and nap time!

Moo does well on and off leash. She is housebroken.

Say hello to this squish of love, Darla.

Darla is around 13-14 weeks old & is the definition of all things “happy-go-lucky pup.” She loves to play, run in the yard, & get into all the adventures she can! She enjoys playing with her toys, other dogs, & running around to burn some energy! She has been around a cat in her foster home & does well respecting her. She is still working on her potty & crate training. Darla is a sweet pup & loves to give kisses. She’s working on her puppy manners, but aims to please!

Cici came to Goofy Foot after being found abandoned at a lake. She’s a 6 month old boxer/lab/heeler mix. Cici loves to play with toys and other dogs! She is a very sweet and friendly girl who loves adventures! She has a lot of energy and would do best in an active household. She loves to go on walks and car rides. She is very smart and knows sit, down, stay, and come. Cici is crate trained and is also doing great with housebreaking. She is good with kids, but may have too much energy for smaller children.

Hi, I’m Tucker! I am the happiest boy you’ll ever meet! I am 5 years old and weigh around 42 pounds. My ophthalmologist said I have retinal degenerative disease. While no treatment is required, it did cause me to go blind. Nonetheless, I am a very happy and independent guy! I will learn my way around your house fast. Did I mention that I’m housebroken? Oh, and I LOVE outside time (in a fenced in yard of course!) I also love to sleep under the covers next to my human or curl up on the couch for a movie night! I also love to play with toys!

I will do my best in a calm environment with few changes. I am great with other dogs and even cats! I’m also good with older children. If my new mom or dad was home part or most of the day, that would be the best thing ever. I do need to be crated while you’re gone for my own safety, but that’s okay, I don’t mind.

Who is looking for sweet, lovable lapdog?

Pickles is 11 years old and her person just died. Pickles is not a fan of other dogs but ADORES people. This sweet girl is about 18 pounds but could stand to lose a few pounds! She does have Addison’s disease but it’s very manageable (and she can come with medical allowance).

Pickles would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch, or in the bed, with someone.

Who needs a dog that’s as sweet as Sugar?! 🥰🐶❤️
Meet Sugar, a very appropriately named, 7 year old lab mix. Sugar has been in foster care for over 6 months with no interest! We just don’t understand that because she is the bestest gal.
Sugar had a rough start to life. She lived with a homeless man for a while and eventually ended up outside on a thick chain. She was eventually surrendered to a shelter where she stayed for several months before coming to Goofy Foot.
Sugar is a cuddle bug who loves to give hugs and kisses. She’s never met a stranger. Sugar is an adventurous girl who loves car rides and walks. She is housebroken and crate trained. She’ll snuggle up on the couch for a movie marathon or go outside and play for hours. Sugar does have some storm anxiety but it is well controlled with medication and a thunder shirt. She’s great with kids (see video) and ignores cats. Sugar will cohabitate with other calm dogs who aren’t interested in being friends or she’d be equally happy as someone’s only canine companion.

Did you know that Black Dog Syndrome (BDS) is a REAL thing?! It means that black dogs take longer to get adopted than dogs with lighter coat colors. 🤯

In a 2011 study by the ASPCA, appearance was the most frequently cited reason for those adopting a canine. A study published in the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science in 2002 found that black coat colors negatively influenced adoption rates for both dogs and cats. Researchers said adoption rates
were much lower in black animals.

Marco is still looking for his perfect home!

As you can see Marco is special! He only has one eye to see this beautiful world with. Nothing stops the sweet boy… He loves to play and has no idea that he’s “different“ than anyone else.

Marco is three months old and is your typical goofy little puppy. Marco likes to play with other dogs in his foster home and is doing great on housebreaking. This guy will be on the smaller side when he’s full grown - probably around 30 pounds.

This good boy is looking for his retirement home! He is 9 years old, 15 pounds, full of personality and energy but unfortunately his person died suddenly. We believe Skippy is a Jack Russell Maltese mix. He is great with other dogs but what he really likes is his person. He loves people and wants to be with you all the time so someone home the majority of the time is preferred.

Skippy is housebroken, almost crate trained (will not use the bathroom in there but takes a few minutes to settle once he's in there). Skippy really, really loves to be near his person so he would love someone who’s home most of the time and has a free lap to sit in!

Skippy LOVES to play fetch. A tennis ball is his best friend! He will play fetch with you for as long as you can throw a ball!

As you can tell, Uppy is a little heartbreaker!

With those eyes, he can get away with just about anything. His foster family couldn't think of a proper name for him, so they would just call him "puppy" which then turned to "Uppy". Turns out, the name was perfect because this fella loves to jump! And who can resist that gorgeous smile?

We think he may have actually been a kangaroo in a past life!! Uppy is full of energy and loves to run and play. He would do best in an active family or one with older children. He does well with other dogs but likes to play rough. No really small children, as Uppy will probably jump on them.

Olive! We were told Olive is an Australian Shepherd mix...yeah. We don't see it either. So what could they be?

Hmmm...Lab? But smaller. Terrier? But bigger. So a Labier. Or a Terrador. I have NO idea but they are mighty cute!

Olive is about 10 weeks old and weigh about 7 pounds. She is currently in our jail dog program where female trustees are caring for the pups while we finish their vetting and find them great homes.

Olive is very sweet and snuggly, loves to play, and gets along great with everyone including other dogs.

Tang is looking for someone who works from home or is retired. She would prefer a calm household with a family who will give her time to adjust and decompress. Tang is good with calm, respectful dogs, but would prefer no cats. A fence is a must. Adoptable Dog Alert. 🐶🚨

Sissy is a 9 year old beagle/dachshund mix. She was surrendered to Goofy Foot when her owner was placed in a nursing home. Sissy is very friendly. She loves belly rubs, snoozing on a dog bed, and getting treats. Sissy has excellent house and car manners. She is great with other calm dogs and even cats. While young children do make Sissy nervous, a home with older children would be fine. Sissy would love an adopter who has lots of time to give her cuddles and dog treats.

Just look at this sweet face!

Ruby has been through more in her short life than most dogs should have to go through. She was brought to a shelter with burns down her back but even with all of that she was still happy and sweet.

Ruby has totally healed but will have scars on her back forever. Scars tell stories....they show strength and somehow they build character. Ruby has character!

Ruby is about 2 years old, 15 pounds and ready for a fun loving family to share her adventures with. An active family who loves the outdoors or has active kids would be a plus for Ruby.

Check out OUR Olympian!! Robbins has been training for this moment (new family) since he came into our care! He is a gold medalists in our book....no second place at all.

It seemed only fitting that we name a litter after surfers or swimmers since our name, Goofy Foot, is based off of a surfing term!

Robbins is a strange combo, we know....Lab/Irish Setter but just look how beautiful he is. He is very sweet and will be between 60-70 pounds.

Robbins is very social and loves people and other dogs. He is going to be great in any family.

The bottle babies are just precious….and the inmates love caring for them!

When we started the program I only thought about what the pups needed - round the clock care, and what better population of people to do that was there than the girls at the jail?

What I didn’t know, or think about at the time, was how therapeutic it would be for the inmates. Many of these women have children at home, and regardless of why they’re there, (in fact I never even ask them that question because they are more than “what are you here for”) they miss their kids and their families. Caring for another living being makes it a little easier.

Studies show that incidences of inmate on inmate violence goes down in a program like this… And also the recidivism rate is lower. In fact, what our jail has found is that the girls just want more coffee LOL!

If the girls don’t have their high school diploma we will also pay for them to get their GED. 

One of the girls that was released is currently working at a vet’s office! This new path was set in motion because of her time in the program.

Another benefit of the program is that the girls learn so much about correct animal care (vaccinations, different medications, the benefits of spay/neuter, how microchips work, why you must use heartworm prevention etc…) and about the problems of pet overpopulation in the south, that when they’re released they know what they need to do to properly care for their own animals. Several girls were initially proud to tell me they let their dogs have puppies before but once we talked about overpopulation they realized that breeding is the reason these unwanted pups are in the situation they are in - and they’ve allowed us to spay several of their personal dogs.

It’s hard. It requires a lot from us but what they get in return is worth every ounce of energy and every penny spent!

We couldn’t do this without the support of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and I am so grateful for that.

We have a box full of babies!!

Their mama was not a good mom and she killed other litters so these guys didn’t stand a chance with her.

We will work on getting her spayed so this goes not happen again! Your donations will allow us to do that.

They’re currently in our jail program and we could use formula, or other supplies, if anyone would like to donate some! We have a few other items on there as well like puppy food and puppy pads.

That’s all I find myself saying these days…..

We are at a crisis level throughout the United States right now….it’s worse than I have seen in 15 years.

Shelters are busting at the seams and euthanasia is happening at increasing levels - healthy, adoptable animals are being killed because there’s no room (by no means is this the shelter’s fault). Those who are fostering are full and rescues are turning away animals by the minute. Fosters are needed everywhere.

If you have ever thought about fostering please reach out! It really is the difference between life and death.

Tooie is looking for the perfect person to call her own! This 3 year old blonde bombshell is a petite thing….she’s about 40 pounds and quite the cutie.

Tooie is looking for someone to take her to the park, go running, hiking, kayaking - you name it and she’s your girl. Netflix? She loves it! Cozy Sunday’s by the fire….SURE!

Tooie prefers to be the only dog in the family - I mean who doesn’t want to feel special?? She is also allergic to cats….ok maybe not allergic but they make her cringe…she’s not a fan. Tooie is housebroken and crate trained but doesn’t normally sleep in a crate - she likes sharing your bed!
