Good morning! Update on our phone situation….It has been a challenge getting Metronet to update our phone system. As of right now we still do not have a date of repair or voicemail available. Please be persistent and call us back between the hours of 7-12:30pm and 1:30-5pm Monday-Thursday. If we do not answer it is because we are on the line speaking with another client. We Thankyou for your understanding. Hopefully our service will be back to full capacity soon.

We are sorry if you are having trouble contacting us. The storm last week damaged our Metronet phone and internet system. They have been working on it. We will be closed on Wednesday February 2-3, to prepare for snow emergency. Remember to provide a clean, dry well insulated shelter for your outside pets. When temperature drop below zero, pets should be housed indoors in garage or shed with plenty of bedding, off the ground, and out of the bitter cold and wind. They need fresh water twice a day and remember calorie requirement increases when it is cold outside, as pets expend more energy to keep warm. Stay home, stay safe and enjoy the snow!

We will no longer require a mask for appointments at Healthier Pet per the change by Huntington Public Health Department to an advisory.

The pandemic has been difficult for healthcare workers to navigate this last year. At Healthier Pet , we are experiencing very full schedules and longer wait times for healthy pets by a couple months. Please call early to schedule well care vaccine appointments or surgeries. If you have an sick pet and the schedule is full, we may offer a drop off/ doctor workin when time is available. As your family veterinarian this may be the best we can do under the circumstances. Just a reminder your family doctor is often not equipped or staffed for many emergency situations.

If you have a critical patient who will need overnight care, the emergency hospital in Ft Wayne is available 24 hours a day. Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital.

You can also help us by rescheduling appointments as early as possible. If you wait until the last minute to cancel same day or just don’t show up for an appointment, the appointment time cannot be offered to another patient who needs the time with the doctor. We have been experiencing a lot of people scheduling time for multiple pet exams and then do not show up for the appointments.

Please give us 24 hour notice for cancellation or rescheduling appointments.
