This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to make. This decision has been so incredibly agonizing for me to make that my kids and I have had bouts of being physically sick over it. But, we acknowledge and understand that this is ultimately the right and best decision to make for both Kifli and our family, as painful as it is. So, please—no harsh words, judgment, criticism, or negative comments. I could just really use compassionate support and help in finding Kifli the perfect new home that will have her the rest of her life.
She does have some behavioral issues that will require a family or someone with a special knowledge about and/or experience with corgis or breeds with highly dominant personalities and well above average intelligence. Please read the detailed profile I wrote about her in the attached link.
Ideally, I’d be over the moon if I could place her with someone local in or near Huntsville so my family and I could have an occasional visit with her.
My heart is broken. My sweet girl deserves the very best. Please share.

Little Lyra is the sweetest, most empathetic girl. Faith refused to nap today and by this evening, she was unraveling. She had a meltdown and put herself in timeout (she does that sometimes without anyone even telling her it’s necessary; I think that’s her quite mature way of decompressing). Lyra approached her with a gentle nuzzle and kisses, then sat next to her until Faith felt better and decided her self-inflicted timeout was done. Lyra was more concerned and committed to sitting with Faith until she decompressed than staying in the kitchen with me while I made dinner and would occasionally drop a treat for her and Kifli. 🩵

This sweetheart has been taken to Huntsville Animal Services today. If she is not claimed and able to go home, she would preferably benefit from an experienced corgi owner to foster or adopt her. I would foster her myself but I currently don’t have the availability to provide the best foster home or care for her at this time.

Kifli is definitely on Santa’s naughty list, but she gives zero you-know-whats. Literally zero. She will continue to be naughty and own it with pride.

Lyra is just sweet as can be and always smiling. I don’t think it’s even possible for her to make the naughty list, or even be naughty.
