Today I cleaned out your crate and got it ready to be put away… I know I know that took forever but somehow I just couldn’t do it. For 4-5 years every time someone left someone else came in. But not with you… & now not with Casperson though I’m sure his story will go on and not be cut short like yours was… closing a door seems so weird. But I still think about you.. and I still kick myself for not just keeping you… but I thought one of 2 would be better than one of 9…. I was wrong.

In the few short months they were together she taught him a lot! I’m gonna really really miss her come his teen phase! She was such a good girl! Always!

This is a very hard post to write… definitely not the end to her story I had hoped for…

Betsy was found deceased and identified this morning not too far from where she came up missing.

I wanted to share some happy photos of this sweet girl who did not deserve this! I’m trying to hang on to 3 good years she had and not one horrible month and end.

A sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has looked for her, shared her posts, and put up with my craziness for the last month! Her life did matter!! Thank you!!

Today has been one month…One month since Betsy ran away from Fort Woof Dog Park. 751 Beach Street Fort Worth Texas.

Today I received a FaceTime from a guy who had trapped a very skinny dog that looked a lot like Betsy in his backyard. I was loading to head to Fort Worth when he called back to tell me it wasn’t her. I had told him she was a cower freeze & p**p scared not a fight scared… well this one was a fight scared & a male 😞 . To everyone still keeping an eye out THANK YOU! I know chances are slim… but slim is NOT impossible!

It took her quite a bit before she tried it, but Betsy did get a woof cup back when Sonic had them. She wasn’t sure about it at first but ended up eating the whole cup! Still missing! No sightings

This is probably my favorite picture of Betsy. She loves to roll in any smell she finds that she wants to save. On this day she was determined to catch a gopher in his hole. Still hoping you are found sweet girl!

Still no sightings. Today cleaning I came across the tag I got her… the one we ordered with her name on it… atleast once in her life she had a tag with her name on it… but it never got put on her collar because I was meaning to buy a new one… she did have my foster mom tag on her when she left me… this is worse than one dying because I worry daily.. is she hungry? Hot? Scared?? Grrr

It’s been 8 days today… I’ve called everyone I can call.. sent messages and emails everywhere I can email and made
Multiple trips to Fort Worth hoping she will hear or smell or see me or one of her buddies from here and come running out of the bushes… but so far that has not happened. We have had 0 sightings… she hasn’t shown up in the shelters that I can see online.. and I’m still so very worried. If you know anyone near Fort Worth or Dallas please share Betsy with them. Thanks!

Posted everywhere I can find to post. The park seems to be removing anything we leave scent or flyer wise… I’m just praying she’s somewhere safe somehow!

Betsy’s foster mom here. Yesterday Betsy got lost in Fort Worth. She was last seen at the dog park at 751 beach st. If anyone knows anyone in the area to keep an eye out please please do! I went to search last night but she was nowhere to be found. Her new mama is looking for her. Please share!

My foster mom is acting alittle off today. She didn’t let me play with the whole
Pack because some of My foster brothers and sisters decided to play with a skunk last night but she’s taken me to the park and loaded me in the truck with my foster dad… we are headed to my new home is what she says. I can tell she’s alittle happy and alittle sad! I’m ready for my next adventure!!

Betsy’s foster mom here:
I’ve been asked several times how I can rehome her after 3 years so I just wanted to hop on & explain. Betsy is a great girl & will definitely take a piece of my heart with her when she moves forward. We have worked pretty hard together and of course I love her, but I am her foster not her forever. I knew that when she came here. As a foster, I know from the beginning it’s not meant to be forever. I get to be a step in their journey. I know that when they move forward another dog will need their place to be saved. I also know that being 1 of 10 is not as great a life as being 1 of 2 or 3. They do spend a lot of time crate and rotate here. They get playgroup and I do my absolute best to spend one on one with each one, but they ALL deserve a forever home. That is how I can let them move forward. O I cry. I miss them. Updates mean so much more than people know! But I know that as one moves forward another can be saved. That’s how 🙂.

3 years ago today, this woman loaded me into her car and I was soooooo scared. She sat with me,deer watching and people watching and just hanging out. After about a month or so I realized she wasn’t so bad and I’d sleep on her feet if she was asleep… over time I meshed in with the ever changing pack of dogs at my foster mom’s house. She jokes I’m a cat in a dogs body because I want human love on my terms and am quite self sufficient. I even brought her a present once she was not super fond of. I need food, shelter, and a doggy friend and I’m good to go. I love to roll in new smells, I sometimes have a cute little howel if I tree a squirrel… I like to chase small Critters and the only time I dig is if there are gophers. Then it’s a game. However my foster mom has birds and prairie dogs that I’ve learned to ignore in their cages but it took time to understand WHY she had what looked like squirrels In cages!! “ we don’t eat family members” that’s what she tells me! Today she held me and petted me and fed me
My favorite treats while thinking back over the last 3 years and how far I’ve come. She will be sad when I get my forever home, but she knows there’s another pup that needs her help! And she says I’ll be better off In a home where my friends don’t keep leaving ( I get quite sad when they leave and won’t eat for a few days). Where I won’t be one of 10 and won’t have to share time and love quite so much… soooo I’m hoping my forever comes soon! If you think I’m a good fit let my foster mom know. She kinda loves to talk to people about me 😉.

Today me and Bodi are teaching the big puppy how to climb and play tetherball. He’s super Clumsy but we are pretty good teachers is what Foster mom says. Then we come inside and rest!

My foster mom says I’m really good at teaching new fosters to play because I’m gentle & engaging when they are timid but I’m all out when they want to play full force. I love to play chase!!

This is my favorite kinda morning activity playgroup!!! I love love to be outside with my friends! Foster mom always supervised to be sure we are nice to each other!

Betsy is always the playtime leader! When she’s tired of the rough stuff she starts “catch me if you can” .. not many can catch her!
