Two TNR cats for this week- these are the last two (that I am aware of at least) in the auto shop colony!! Except there may be a kitten or two left that mama is hiding.. I was told one sibling to the little boy I grabbed was also found and taken in after she rode under a car to work with a neighbor.

The polydactyl girl that I caught from the main colony the other week has a sibling that I knew about from talking to tenants, and I was able to grab her as well this last week! They are pretty much twins except for their face markings..they both have an extra toe bean on each paw. According to one tenant, she has had 6 litters over the past 2 years.. I am sure both girls have had too many kittens. Apparently groups come to take the kittens, but have never done anything to help either mama.. which I absolutely cannot stand. At the very least get the parents vetted for TNR if you can't intake and rehome them. Plus these two girls are docile and friendly, so there was no excuse. The absolutely has to be practiced more if we are to make progress- rescue and adoption alone is not the answer.

Please donate to help these kitties on the streets be properly cared for, while also making sure the many foster kitties get everything they need. If only each of our followers donated a few dollars, we could get all of the cats' vaccines updated for the year.

❣Former Foster Update❣

Corvette was a tiny kitten I found in the hood of a , of course. I was originally there for another litter of kittens and to TNR the rest of the small colony. Corvette was older than the other litter, but still so young and lucky. Swipe to the end to see his pictures when he was first caught! 🐈
Corvette is now named Link, to go with his new older kitty sister Zelda's name. He is also pictured cuddled up behind his sister Zelda toward the end of the slideshow- she took about a month to accept him into her domain, but now they love each other. Link also has a human mom, dad, and kid sister!
Here is what his mom says about him: "Link is ALWAYS in the room we are in when we are home, and loves sleeping with us at night, sitting at the windows bird watching, and cuddling on the couch with us. He is SO social with people who come visit us, and LOVES my husband and is his constant shadow. He was a perfect match for our family."

I wish for these amazing forever homes for all of the foster kitties. 💗

Two of the were adopted two years ago and are thriving in their forever home! Bedelia the calico is now Storm; Donato the flame point is now Trooper. This is what their mama says about them:

🚨 URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED 🚨

There are 18 foster kitties needing their updated vaccines for the year, so far 6 have gone to the vet- where we still owe $100 from our bill. The total for updating the fosters' vaccines will be about $560.
Two kitties also went for spay/neuter this week and that bill was $187.
Hariz still needs to fundraise $5,000 for his hip and knee surgeries.
Your help and donations are desperately needed!

All of this on top of providing daily care and supplies is killing me. I am begging for help for donations and forever homes or other reputable rescue placement. Please help keep these kitties cared for until everyone can be safely placed. 🙏

It has been a busy couple of weeks.

❗I was able to grab another female from the main colony so she can be spayed and vaccinated. She is a sweetie and has extra toe beans on every paw! I hope to be able to quickly find a rescue to take her in, instead of just TNR. There is only a handful more cats (that I am aware of at least) from the main colony that have not been TNRd yet.. it is a great feeling to be close to being a fully vetted colony that spans across a whole block of apartments and duplexes.

4 kitties just went for their updated vaccines for the year, and we still have many more to go. We also have 2 urgent kitties that need their spay/neuters. This is going to cost around $500 at least! We need flea medications- we are out! We alternate between Revolution Plus(RX Only) and Advantage 2- since the fleas can build tolerance. We also use Capstar pills in between topical treatments. It is expensive to flea treat over 2 dozen kitties monthly, so your donations are important. Please help by donating toward the flea meds that are so very much needed- every bit adds up. 🙏🐈

This is the last kitten of Midnight's last litter from the gas station/junkyard colony. I was able to hand grab the tabby boy months ago- soo he was able to easily be socialized and found a home with the calico kitten that was dumped at my other colony! This boy is more feral since he is a bit older now- and with such a lack of rescue resources, he will be TNRd back to his mama and cousins. The gas station owners are very caring and love the cats, which is always a nice surprise around here.
Donations are needed for his and the other remaining teenagers to get their necessary vet care. On average for just spay/neuter and vaccines, each kitty costs around $100. Please donate to help get these colony kitties that so many rescues ignore because they are not friendly. TNR is one of the key components of actually reducing the overpopulation. as explained by is so important and I have always practiced it. We need to spread the word that rescuing kittens over and over from the same areas with no regard to the moms and other adult strays/ferals is not making any progression in overpopulation.
Please help me help the forgotten colony kitties by donating toward vetting funds- every little bit adds up. I can finish these colonies before new litters of kittens pop up if people would donate!

The tiny ragamuffins from the rough gas station / auto shop colony are thriving at their foster home- which I am so grateful for! They sent me this update, and I knew everyone else would appreciate it as well. If the foster and rescue hadn't stepped up these babies would not have had a chance. Their colony is not done being TNRd because of lack of funds/resources..but at least for now their mom and a few others were able to be trapped, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated.

🚨If any other rescues can help with cats, or adopters, please reach out- the need to transfer/ adopt out already vetted cats is also urgent. 🐈

The most severely injured tom cat that I trapped the other week with the bad neck gash and extreme case of pillow foot was clearly not always a feral cat. He flipped the switch one day and started talking to me and purring while enjoying pets and being a good gentle boy! This is a blessing, because he ended up needing his leg amputated- so he has to be an indoor only family member now. He is fully vetted and fil/felv negative. This is the little boy that I hand grabbed after I popped a truck hood in the junkyard/auto shop that I have been TNRing at. He didn't fight or make a sound! He is about 8 weeks old and was filthy. He was scared when I got him home and situated, but by the next day he was meowing for attention, purring, and rolling over for belly rubs. A rescue friend was able to take him in for me after about a week- so thankful! The truck he was hiding in actually was moved the next day as well, glad I found him when I did. I caught five more cats for TNR this past week- two females(one pregnant, one nursing) and three males. Two are from a neighborhood colony that I was contacted about helping- the rest are from the same auto shop colony as last week. I have seen two more cats at that colony that I have yet to catch- and there is usually more I don't see too. Majority of the males that I've caught over the last two weeks all have wounds and abscesses, which means they need extra vet care. I found more surprise cats at the old auto shop colony that Cordelia came from years and years ago. I was putting out food for the female tabby that I TNR'd a few weeks ago when I saw a fluffy snowshoe cat wandering close by through the grass. I did a quick walk around and ended up seeing 6 or 7 cats that I did not know were there, including one kitten that I was able to grab by hand once I popped the truck hood and he was just right there. I was able to then trap 4 adults and get them their necessary vetting. One of the adults is a massive polydactyl tom cat with a nasty gash on his already scarred up neck. The May Flowers Litter are three weeks old today! Time goes so fast- they are looking like little kittens already. We need donations for their care always! Our littlest Amaryllis is the first of the litter to open her peepers and see the world! I have had to supplement some of her feedings, as she would have days where she would not gain any weight. She always gets back on track after a day or two of extra feedings. She is about 20grams smaller than the next smallest kitten of the litter, and about 80grams smaller than the largest. The stray mama gave birth today after lunchtime. She has had seven babies, I think and hope that is all. She had been extra vocal the last couple days, and somehow had gotten even rounder. One of her feeders said that she is a great and territorial mama- luckily she is not being territorial.. she knows she is safe here. 😻 I need to decide on names for mama and her crew. They need a theme, and I believe there is 4 boys and 3 girls. I will do introductions of the babies individually after that. If you can, please send mama and babies help in the form of supplies. The main needs are wet & dry kitten food, potty pads, crate hammocks, and air purifiers!
