Meet Mama Lexi and her 8 sweet puppies! 🐶💕

Lexi LOVES her toys, and when she’s not playing with them, she’s showering her five boys and three girls with all the care they need to grow strong and healthy.

These little ones are thriving at almost one month old and they’ll be ready for transport to their forever homes at the end of January! We are so happy they have a rescue commitment with our rescue partners.🚚

We googled “the perfect dog” and the only thing that popped up was a photo of this guy. Meet Theodore, better known as Teddy by his friends!

Teddy is an older German Shepherd (probably 8-10 years old). This guy has a pretty heartbreaking story. He was picked up while trying to survive on the streets- weak, starving, and defeated. He found himself in a rural Alabama shelter on the dreaded “list”, and it seemed like this was end of the road for sweet Teddy. But, lucky for him, this beautiful boy got a second chance at life! 🌟

As an older guy, Teddy’s hips aren’t what they used to be, but he still gets to where he’s going at a leisurely pace. He loves to wander the house and explore, but he knows a soft bed when he sees one and doesn’t hesitate to make himself comfy. 🏡

Teddy is a total sweetheart who gets along with everyone — dogs, cats, you name it. But, his absolute favorite thing in the world is people. 💗He’d love nothing more than to hang right by his person’s side and grab as many snuggles as he can handle.

Teddy would do well in a home with older kids; sometimes his back and hips are sore and he needs to be with people who understand he might not want to be touched or pet there.

Jacob found his forever family just before Christmas and he looks so happy! You would never know this photogenic boy was once scared and overlooked in the shelter.

Thank you to the shelter workers for keeping him safe for several months. Thank you to his foster mom for taking care of him. She helped socialize Jacob and brought him out of his shell. And thank you to his new family for saving him!

We had several successful transports this month! We thought it was cold here in AL, but then we saw photos of dogs being unloaded in 16 degree weather up north. Brrr!❄

Why do we transport animals to other states? 🚚
-to give them a better chance of adoption
-spaying/neutering our rescue dogs reduces overpopulation
-this also reduces the number of animals that are euthanized overall

Many northern shelters are empty while the southern shelters are overflowing. Our amazing rescue partners and transport services help save lives by getting animals off the streets and out of shelters.

Pets are so much more than four legs and a tail; they become members of your family! We are so happy that so many animals made it home in time for the holidays.🐾🎄

This little family is just one example of how your contribution is making a difference in the lives of many. Willow only gave birth a month ago, so they will be altered when Willow is healed and the puppies are old enough.

Meet 5-month-old Angel! 🐾

Angel is a sweet, smart, and curious dog who’s ready to find her forever home! This confident girl is always up for an adventure. Whether it's exploring new sights, sniffing around on hikes, or just snuggling up on the couch, Angel enjoys it all.

Angel would do well with most families. If you already have dogs, a home where the other animals are ready to handle her fun energy and playful spirit would be best. 🏡Angel is great with other dogs, and she did wonderfully on hikes with her foster dad and another dog.

🎄A Christmas Miracle for Beckham!🎄

We posted about our ortho patients back in October. Beckham’s story started with heartache when he was tragically dumped from a moving car, leaving him injured and in need of urgent care. His leg was badly hurt and, his future was uncertain.

But then came Dr. Reid Pearlman, a compassionate veterinarian who refused to let Beckham's story end in tragedy. Dr. Pearlman generously offered to sponsor the surgery Beckham so desperately needed.❤️ Luna Farms Rescue was able to pull him from the shelter, saving him from euthanasia and giving him a second chance at life.

Fast forward to yesterday, and something incredible happened. The vet examined Beckham and discovered that his leg had healed so much on its own that surgery was no longer necessary! It is a true Christmas miracle, showing just how special and strong this little dog is. 🎁

Today, Beckham’s story reaches its happy ending. Surrounded by love and support, he went home to his forever family. The moment they all showed up to adopt him was nothing short of magical. This puppy knew his family was there and he went to each one of them, just leaning in to soak up the love. Beckham is finally safe, loved, and ready to begin the next chapter of his life.✨

A senior GSD, Teddy, was found walking the streets. He was not neutered, he was in pain, and overall he was in pretty bad shape from neglect. His teeth are worn down and he is also severely underweight. Teddy ended up at the shelter but the shelter was out of room. 💔

Euthanasia was in his immediate future. With just a few hours to spare, Luna Farms Rescue was able to pull him out of the crowded, noisy shelter where there was no hope for him. THANK YOU to our foster family who stepped up and agreed to take this sweet boy. 🏡

*Absolutely no disrespect to the shelter because they are doing what they can with what they have*

Teddy is loving, sweet, great with other dogs and cats, and walking much better than he was. His foster mom is soaking his kibble in water to soften it for him and he is so happy to have access to food! 🐶

We will post more updates for Teddy when we have them. 💗

We're so excited to announce that we had THREE transports heading out last week, bringing big, little, young, and old dogs to their forever homes- just in time for the holidays! 🏡❤️🎄

A huge thank you to our incredible partners at Huntsville Animal Services, Florence Lauderdale Animal Services, Marshall County, and Lend-A-Paw for helping us save so many lives. Together, we're giving these furry friends the greatest gift: a warm home and a loving family! 🐶🐾

The holidays just got a whole lot brighter for these pups—thanks to everybody who helped make it possible! 🎁
