💚💙Feel Good Friday!! 💙💚
Penny was born in rescue and was adopted out… TWICE! This is the update from her forever family and we are so happy for this sweet girl! We appreciate our adopted families being dedicated and loyal to our pups, just like they are to them.
Just a reminder, Penny’s mom, Astrid is still in rescue looking for her forever family!

Hi Kim! I wanted to give you a little 3 month ish update on Penny (Yuki)! Shes the absolute best dog in the entire world - a total cuddle bug, adventure lover, gets along great with everyone and every dog, is hilarious and spunky, and is smart as heck (she’s crushing the training!). A few pics/videos attached so you can see what she’s been up to! Thanks so much for what you do and for bringing this little angel nugget into our lives!

On our Wednesday Wishlist we are looking for cat food, specifically indoor/hairball control cat food. All the cats at rescue appreciate all your donations.
🤍Quincy🤍 is pictured and has been waiting for her forever home for over a year. We are dedicated to the animals that come into rescue and make certain they are cared for until they find their family, for however long that takes.

💕This Giving Tuesday we are asking for donations to continue to help pay down our medical expenses that we have accrued for the pups this past year. For example blood testing for Sugar. When Sugar came into rescue we noticed some characteristics associated with a blood clotting disorder. The test just by themselves cost $420.
These donations will also go towards paying our emergency bills that we get when animals come into our care. We spent over $10,000 in emergency bills this year alone. This will also go towards spay and neuters, we spent over $8,000 in spay and neuters this year. And of course any on going care for the animal currently in our care.
Thank you for your donation as it gives us the ability to continue our mission towards a better future for all animals.

Today is National Mutts Day! Probably the best breed there is and we want to celebrate it with your special mutt! We will be handing out our MUTTS MATTERS TREATS today that have been in the making for quite awhile now. We couldn’t think of a better day to share a bit of our love and future endeavor with you. Our GF Pawsitive Pumpkin and Cheese treats will be free for your pooches tasting at OLD BULL BREWING in Frenchtown and WYE WEST CASINO/BAR. Let us know what your doggies think!

We are happy to introduce ZYIA. ZYIA is a Xolo, around 2-3 years old is our best guess, and weighing 50lbs. Zyia was dumped in the mountains of Montana in November, facing certain death. It was clear she was used for one thing, breeding. She is now spayed and had a hernia repaired and is learning what life is all about. She is true to the breed and aloof with strangers, but if she knows you, she is extremely affectionate and a goofy girl. She loves toys and playing with other dogs. She does well with children, but older children would be best due to her playful nature and breed. She has done well with cat testing. Zyia rides in the car and can kennel but prefers to be with her person. Knowledge about the breed is preferred. Zyia would love a home that could help keep her active as she loves to run and play. Zyia needs a patient family who can let her learn to be a dog again at her own pace. She has done fabulously in rescue, but still is anxious at times as you can tell her prior life was full of uncertainty. Zyia has a very sweet disposition and is eager to find her forever family that she can put all her love and devotion into. Zyia has quickly become a favorite at rescue due to her amazing personality and kind loyalty. Zyia is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. Homeownership and fenced yard are preferred. This rescue will not adopt out to individuals with unaltered domestic pets.

Ethyl was in rescue for almost a year before she found her perfect fit. This beauty went through a lot and the scares and missing leg showed this. We are so thankful for our adopters as they continue to love and grow with Ethyl!

Take Me Home Tuesday!!!
Below is Hagen’s bio. We are looking for a dedicated family with another doggy friend to play with Haggy Boy!

Hagen is over a year-old terrier mix around 11lbs. He is a compact full of love type of dog. Hagen loves to follow his caretaker around and has started to like being a dog again. Poor Hagen was abandoned and tossed out like trash in the middle of nowhere left to fend for himself. He was terrified and it took rescue efforts over two weeks to finally catch this little pup. He is learning that people are good and enjoys sitting on your lap and getting pets. Hagen is slow to warm up to individuals, but with a past like his, who could blame him. Hagen was abandoned with another pup at rescue, Sugar, and we would prefer to adopt out together. Hagen NEEDS another dog. He loves playing with dogs of all sizes and truly lights up when he is around a good play mate. Hagen is learning that cats are good too but will sometimes bark at them. Hagen is good around children; older children would be best due to his size and shy nature. Hagen is still learning to be a dog again and we are requiring his adopter to have knowledge in skittish/timid dogs, or an understanding of the patience and dedication it will take to foster the great potential that Hagen has. Since Hagen has a flight tendency when scared a secure fenced yard is also required. Again, Hagen is still learning the basics of being a dog and patience and understanding is needed. Hagen is a the sweetest of boys looking for his second chance. Hagen is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. Homeownership and fenced yard are required for this adoption due to Hagen’s transition of new surroundings. This rescue will not adopt out to individuals who have unaltered domestic pets.

This has been a long time coming for this girl. But as we know in rescue the wait is well worth it. Navy found her person after a year of waiting so patiently. We could not have found a more perfect match for Navy. Seeing her so excited to leave rescue to go on the next big adventure with her mama and new best friend is what we live for. Thank you Joelle for giving her the best life. We are crying happy tears as this pup deserves the world and Joelle is excited to give that to her.

We are honored that this sweet girl found her way to our rescue. We are even more honored to have meet and known her rescuers in Mineral County. ZYIA could not be a more deserving soul for rescue and finding her forever home. She was abandoned with other dogs (spanning between two states) in the mountains facing certain death. She was obviously only used for one purpose and this past Saturday we are happy to say she will never be used for breeding again, she was spayed!!! We were also able to get a hernia repaired. To add to the utter disgust of the situation, someone had the audacity to take permanent marker and write on this girl, no doubt remnants from her breeding days. We are extremely excited to welcome Zyia to the pack and finding her forever home.

Todd now DODGER is living the good life with his dad. Todd was left abandoned and discarded like trash where he then found himself in the shelter and the stress got the better of him. He rebounded wonderfully in his foster home and can now enjoy his new life with the guys!

We will be following our stray/found animal protocol in attempts to find owner.
If owner is not found within 7 days we will be seeking medical care for this pup and owner could be liable for expenses.

Not even 24 hours after being in rescue Hagen got Daisy to play. Both these dogs had adverse beginnings. They were abandoned by people that they depended on, and on the loose too long, and then had to be trapped to even be able to be brought into the shelter. Now, it’s play time! #adoptdontshop #rescuedog

Update on BELLA! A great example of what you would think an unadoptable animal is. But Connie didn’t think so! Bella came to rescue about two years ago and required a lot of socialization work. She was adopted in May 2023. She loves her daily hikes and is contemplating being a search and rescue dog. She also learned she likes fetch. Connie was dedicated to Bella and understood what she needed and gave her all the patience in the world. We appreciate adopters like them! Earlier this week we said goodbye to a family member here at the sanctuary. Moo came to us severely overweight, couldn’t move, and was depressed. We got him on a diet (much to his not liking) and did PT with him to gain strength. Moo was an ornery pig, but also cared about his fellow mates. He was always willing to give a belly scratch to another pig and loved sun bathing. A couple years ago Moo’s partner passed away and the solace we take is they are together again. We love you so much Moo. We loved watching you thrive here at the sanctuary. This video was him last fall with his piggy and kitty friend. Below is a picture of his first summer with us, before he lost the needed weight.

These two came into rescue yesterday. They are going to experienced foster homes and will get much needed socialization and hopefully a groom. We will continue to share updates on their journey to finding their forever homes. Meet MICK and TAYLOR! #adoptdontshop

Juliet is settling in nicely this morning! I am so excited about this beautiful girl! She spent over 4 months in a shelter before coming to the rescue. I am so happy for her and thank you to everyone who helped her get to rescue! 💜💜
