Hello all!

Starting Monday 5/22, we will be allowing clients back into our facility!!

The nitty gritty:
We are allowing one client per pet to enter.

Please still call ahead before entering (our lobby is fairly small and we need to make sure we have enough space).

If your dog is reactive to veterinary staff / other people / pets, please wait in your car, call us and remind us about their nervousness. Our staff will come get you from the car when the exam room is ready to es**rt you to the room so you won't wait in the lobby where your pet and others will be stressed.

Masks are strongly recommended.

If you prefer a completely curbside visit, that is totally fine, just call and let us know and we can still get you checked in and out from the car.

Please be patient with us! Veterinary professionals are overwhelmed with the amount of pets people have adopted since the pandemic began. There are 4 times as many pets per veterinarians than there were 4 years ago, and we are doing our best to serve our current clients. We are very excited to see you in person!

Going forward here are our new long-term hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Sunday: CLOSED

Please be mindful, especially for boarding drop-offs/pickups, or food/medicine pickups! The last appointment slot will be 30 minutes prior to closing.

Special changes for this Memorial Day Weekend:
Friday 5/27: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Monday 5/30: CLOSED

These two sweet brothers were hospitalized for ingesting lilies, which can be extremely toxic to the kidneys in cats. They are doing excellent after decontamination and fluids to flush out the toxins. Please remember to keep lilies out of the home if you have kitties!

Just an FYI: We have returned to full hours (M-F 8am-7pm, Sat 8am-4pm), and full services.

We will still continue to be curbside only, and not allow clients in the building.

Please never leave your pet inside of a car unattended. Because they do not sweat, they overheat and die from heatstroke extremely easily.

A University of Pennsylvania research team has enlisted the help of eight Labrador retrievers to determine whether canines can detect an odor associated with the virus that causes the disease COVID-19. If so, they might eventually be used in busy public places as a non-invasive way to test visitors.

A "canine surveillance" corps could offer a noninvasive, four-legged method to screen people in airports, businesses or hospitals, researchers say.

Even more changes at PGAH due to COVID:

1. We will now no longer have owners inside our facility. When owners arrive for their appointment, they will call us and we will bring their pet to the hospital. The doctor will call you to update you and the receptionist will process you out over the phone. We have tested this out the past two days and this has worked extremely well and we are very impressed with our staff and how they have adapted!

2. We will reduce our hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to 8am-5:30pm. Mon and Fri will still be 8am-7pm, and Saturday still as 8am-4pm.
