I will just leave this here! It’s reality people!!!!
I have been seeing the post going around about what the spca did to those kittens. They are upfront with ppl when bringing cats in that there may be a chance that they are euthanized! Yes it’s sad very sad what happened to those babies but ppl need to realize there is only so much room for so many. And taking quote feral kittens off the street is a challenge.
I actually have 3 feral kittens in rescue that I know I will never be able to home. So what’s next? Everyone sharing that post doesn’t understand what rescue is. We can not save them all there is just too many of them. You all need to try to volunteer if you are able or maybe talk to someone in rescue and learn things and they would definitely maybe understand better. We can’t even find our cats homes. Some have been in rescue for years waiting on their forever homes. We don’t post them enough but we will be posting soon and I bet not one person will step up and adopt them. I use to be against the spca bad mouth them ect.
Until I seen first hand what goes on in these shelters and rescues. Could have they waited a few days or weeks to see if these babies were gonna turn around?sure they could have but at the end of the day those spaces could be used for homable cats. I have even asked the shelter to take some of our cats when they get low on cats or kittens and they are very fwd with me that there is a chance that they could be euthanized for multiple reasons. And I get it! So I never take Kittens or Cats there knowing that may happen because we try to save so many but it’s impossible. You also have to understand when you’re taking stray, cats or kittens into a big shelter with healthy cats. Your jeopardizing diseases being spread throughout the whole facility and then they all die and that’s not fair to the healthy ones, yes Kittens hiss when they are scared, but most of them that Hiss at that age are normally feral. You can not home a feral cat!! All shelters and rescues need help and everybody that’s complaining about what they did to these poor babies have you ever stepped up and fostered have you ever adopted have you ever volunteered? Maybe some of you have, but when you are in Rescue or work in a shelter and see what happens first hand you would completely understand why this was done. I said do I believe they should’ve gave them a chance yes I do everybody does but did somebody maybe even ask them if they were full and didn’t have space for them? 99.9% of the time you are told when you walk through the door with a stray cat or stray kittens there is that chance they could be euthanized and you have the choice to walk out with the Cats or Kittens before signing them over. I was not there when this lady took these babies in there so I don’t know what was said, but I know for a fact that they tell everybody that. And rescue is not easy it’s sad and I’m sure these girls didn’t enjoy euthanizing all these small babies. It’s their job. That’s what they do. It’s something I never could do personally that’s why I will not work in a kill shelter. I can’t even work at a veterinarian office it breaks my heart. Any other time I would’ve normally shared that post, but I refuse to because I know deep down that that’s not what they wanted to do to those babies. They had to be a reason it could not have been just because they were hissing at them because they know Kittens are scared. so please take a moment. And really think about what we all go through in shelters and rescues. It’s sad. It’s not fun and everybody has to realize we cannot save them all if people would just spay and neuter their animals there be a lesser chance of this happening!!!!
