‼️Missing from Oct18th to Oct 30th‼️
Ellies B's Story
After 13 long days, Ellie B was finally found safe. It started on a Saturday afternoon when her owners was hiking with her that her leash slipped her collar. Something spooked her and she took off the owners tried to follow her, but she was just too fast. They looked for 12 hours that day into the night with no signs of her. The owners reached out to Animals Matter for help. We immediately went out assessed where she went missing and set up cameras and feeding stations all we got was a bear, opossums, rabbits, a mouse and a bobcat. We knew she would still be safe with the wildlife being out there. after 24 hours dogs go into survival mode and they do everything they can to survive to find food, water and shelter. finally after nine days we had a sighting from a hunter not even a mile away from where she went missing. We immediately went to that spot with no signs again of Ellie. We searched and searched and we set up the trap and another feeding station. The only thing that came across our camera was a coyote. every day the owners and I walked and drove continuously looking for any signs of her. We also had Thermal Drones out of Dubois, assist us and nothing. she was in a spot to where the only way we would get a Sighting as if she moved towards houses or another hunter would see her, so we knew we had to stay on Foot and drive. the owner contacted us Thursday, October 30 and stated she seen her paw prints and two different spots one very close to where the hunter seen her and some paw prints up on the hill. So we knew she was still in the area. So we told the owners that we would move the trap and the feeding station to those areas. as where we saw her paw prints four days prior the coyote decided to show up at our feeding station so we didn't wanna take any chances of her and the coyote showing up at the same time to eat. So my husband and I and the owners went out and we set up the trap on top of the hill with the camera. Then we went to the bottom to where the hunter seen her by a trail road and set up a feeding station, as we were standing there talking to her telling her we were done with her shenanigans and the owners told her that she had a nice warm place to live that she needed to come home we heard a bark. immediately, the owners knew that was their baby. We continue to talk to her, and my husband held a spotlight down over the embankment and there she was. Ellie immediately ran up over the hill straight to her owners, wagging her tail with joy that they had found her, her owners were ecstatic, that their baby was safe and going home. It was the best feeling in the world to see her come up over the hill!! We want to thank the community, Thermal Drones out of Dubois Jeremy, WAW pet recovery, the hunter, and family and friends and everybody that came together to help bring this girl back home safe. Ellie is doing great and her family is glad to have her back home safe and Ellie is back to her normal routine. Again, thank you everyone for coming together to bring this baby girl home 💕🐾💕🐾 and the most thanks I wanna give is to the owners of Ellie. They were out there every day and every night, endlessly looking for their fur baby and never gave up and trusted me and helping find their baby to bring her home safe.
Welcome home Ellie B 🐾💕🐾💕
