Well its official, Ivy had her first forward ride today ( yes, in the rain 🌧 ) I tacked her up to see if this saddle would even fit her (eh) then we took a stroll around the barn causing a stir of whinny’s from everyone. I put on my raincoat and headed to the arena with her. She had a few protest but soon relaxed and decided less is more. Once her mind and emotions settled. I got on and she was like wait, what? no! where are you? And we did turn on the haunches for what felt like forever. Then she took two steps forward and was praised. Then two more steps sorta forward 😆… then we were moving at the walk around the rail, turning and changing directions. She almost offered a trot but decided that was way to scary and stopped looked back at me and was like whoa I almost trotted and scared myself. Again I praised her for all her efforts and got off. Tomorrow she will understand more then today but today was awesome for her.🥰
