We want to extend a huge thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers that have been working at the farm, making sure that we are able to continue the mission. Thanks to our personal volunteers and supporters we are happy to say with the incoming bad weather, ice, snow, and all the cold temperatures, all dogs are safe, secure and warm inside of our facility with easy listening music, warm beds, heat and comfort and nice clean spaces to snooze away the snow fall.
We also would like to urge everyone please be careful if you must get out on the roads tomorrow into Monday! Get your milk and bread now! 🤣🤣

We would like to take a moment to clear up something that seems to be a bit of misinformation.
To protect our good friends and ally against false accusations and claims, the woman who spoke at Lisa’s service and referenced her as being her mentor in rescue IS NOT the same one who went to the media or has spoken against sbbf. We love and adore the woman who did speak and are beyond grateful for her and her love and compassion that she carries for both her rescue and ours as well as the PEOPLE involved. Compassion is a huge player in this, and those who have shown that compassion please know it has not gone unnoticed.

First off, we would like to offer our deepest gratitude to everybody who has supported us and sent us condolences and love during this difficult chapter. Losing Lisa upheaved our lives and this rescue and while we continue to grieve, we will continue to uphold her legacy of animal rescue.

This rescue and the thousands of dogs in loving homes, living out their glory days are Lisa’s legacy. Anybody who met Lisa, knew that she put her all into this rescue and finding fur-ever homes for as many dogs as possible. Her legacy will not end with her passing. She has passed the torch, and we will accept that responsibility and charge ahead.

We are aware that there are concerns, some of which are valid on the condition of the farm and the state of the animals. Lisa was the backbone of this rescue, and had the most pivotal role here. Prior to Lisa’s passing, she had taken a step back from a number of duties due to her health. Trust was placed in a number of individuals to fill her shoes. Upon Lisa’s passing, we became aware that their efforts had fallen significantly short of the standard Lisa and this rescue have always maintained.

We welcomed another rescue in that offered assistance and support. We are incredibly appreciative of their role in getting our number of rescues down to a manageable size and facilitating medical treatment to the animals in need. We are extraordinarily appreciative to all of the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort on the farm to improve the conditions of the kennels and facility.

We assure you that changes have been made and will continue to be, so that Lisa’s standard of care for these animals will never again falter. Individuals have been relieved from a number of positions, and additional levels of oversight have been implemented. We are complying fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. We welcome their involvement and will continue to take any and all necessary measures to ensure that we are legally and morally upholding the standard of care these animals deserve. All animals on the farm are current on vaccinations, and recently treated for worms as well as flea and ticks.

We will not stand for any disrespect of our guardian angel. We understand concerns or questions, but disrespect towards Lisa will be met with a block from our page and our rescue. Everybody here is mourning an insurmountable loss while putting in extraordinary effort on the farm. Patience is appreciated, as we are putting in the manpower and social media is not our priority at this time.

If you would like to help, donations can be made to Animal Clinic- Stewart County on behalf of SBBF to assist in veterinary costs. Donations of Kennasol, bleach, laundry detergent, and general cleaning supplies are also appreciated.

Big shout out to Mikaela's Mutt Motel for showing up in our time of need. Mikaela and her husband are phenomenal individuals who graciously found many homes for dogs in a very short time. I want everyone to know that these folks are a blessing and have hearts of gold! This show of help IS! what the rescue community is all about. (Brian Cadwallader)

Seniors in High School needing hours for community service. Military needing extra hours for volunteer hours, anyone needing to do community service hours, or anyone just wanting to give back and help out!!! We are needing volunteers willing to come out help clean, feed, love on these dogs. With everything that is going on, we have been asked what we need most, while I cannot pinpoint anything specific, one item we could use to help keep dog food safe, and reduce the risk of mice getting drawn to the food, if anyone has old chest freezers that no longer work or even stand up freezers that we could lay on their backs to use as an enclosed and protected storage would be amazing.
