Late last night we were contacted about a family who had just experienced a terrible house fire and were at Noah's Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center with their 8 week old puppy, Selene.

Selene is in pretty rough shape and struggling to breathe due to smoke inhalation. She needs to be hospitalized on oxygen if she hopes to make a full recovery. Her owners have $1000 to put towards her care but are not able to cover the entire cost of the estimate.

This is where we need our community to step up. 👇🏻

If we're able to raise $2300, we can comfortably cover Selene’s ENTIRE estimate...meaning her family would not need to spend their money to pay for her vet care.

This family is struggling, and this is how we help.

We’ve just been contacted by Noah's Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center about a tiny puppy named Granola.

Granola is an 8 week old bulldog who was brought in tonight due to labored breathing. Doctors determined she likely has pneumonia and needs to be hospitalized. Her owners have paid as much as they can but they are not able to afford the full amount of the estimate they were given.

Indy CARES will be paying for Granola’s hospitalization and our invoice will likely exceed $2000.

SAVE THE DATE: Free Drive-Thru Dog Vaccination Clinic on Oct 17.

Parvo is a highly contagious, miserable, and often fatal disease mainly affecting dogs three years and younger. Veterinary treatment to increase the chances of survival is often very expensive.

However, a simple vaccination is a highly effective preventative. Therefore, FIDO is teaming up with the FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic, Indianapolis Animal Care Services, and SOAR: Street Outreach Animal Response Initiative to provide vaccinations for the first 300 dogs at the event.

We are targeting young dogs (3 years old and younger) for this event since they are most susceptible to parvo. We will also be providing rabies vaccinations.

Date: Saturday, Oct 17
Time: 10 am to 4 pm
Location: FIDO parking lot, 1505 N Sherman Dr, 46201

NOTE:
-- Please line up AFTER 9:00 am
-- Please form a line heading SOUTH ONLY on Sherman Drive.
-- We will count dogs in cars in line. Once we reach 300 dogs, we will let everyone behind in line know the clinic is closed to minimize wait times.
-- For those still needing parvo vaccinations for their young dogs, West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic provides the parvo vaccination for $10 per dog, routinely, six days a week.
