Remember that German shepherds were bred to work! When we start losing focus of that then we start to move away from the original purpose of what these amazing dogs are bred for. If you focus on color or if a dog has a small white patch on him (like Odin) and say he is a “fault” in the breeding program and not to be used for breeding, then you are not breeding for working dogs your breeding for a “pretty face” and your not breeding for the right reasons. At first when I saw Odin and saw the white patch my beginner and less informed brain went to “ah he has white on him he must not be good” “ white makes him look not like a true German” I like their darker ones” etc.. and wow wow wow!!! was I totally wrong!! I’m very glad that I decided to get him! I still have so So much to learn,,but one thing that I have learned from the amazing breeding program I got him from is that these dogs are made for work and it’s not all about color or size. Odin May have a small white patch on his chest that may make others want to stray away from him but it’s not about that. It’s about his working abilities and how good of a dog he is. When you look at his pedigree and his parents and parents parents you can tell how much time and thought and money went into it. He is from some of the greatest! He will prove himself and has begun to! I’m glad that I’m learning and trying to focus on the true original purpose of these dogs and continue to learn/train and hopefully eventually potentially grow into a very nice reputable program!💕
