The Pampered Poodle Co, LLC

The Pampered Poodle Co, LLC I design custom paracord and Biothane dog gear for your pampered pups! One thing unique to my shop is that I offer stamped Biothane!
(1)

I specialize in collars and leashes, but also make bringsels, paracord pull tabs, pull straps, and other custom requests. A little bit about me:

My name is Gabby Weinert, and I am the human behind The Pampered Poodle Co! I have a service dog of my own who is a standard poodle named Oliver. He is the original pampered poodle and inspiration behind this business! I am an animal scientist with my de

gree from Purdue University (BOILER UP!), and am currently a graduate student at the University of Indianapolis getting my masters in education. This is a one year, intensive masters program for people who already hold a STEM degree and now wish to go into teaching. My goal is to teach upper level high school biology and share my passion for animals with students! With this program, I am taking graduate courses as well as student teaching. In addition to all of this, I am also a high school softball coach! As you can tell, I keep quite busy! Because of this, I ask that you please be patient with me on my orders. Everything I made is handmade by me only, and with everything I have going on in addition to my own health issues and personal life, there may be occasional delays. I am always very open about the time period in which I expect I can complete an order, and if there are any extenuating circumstances that change the anticipated completion date, I will always be sure to let you know as soon as possible! I also love sending progress photos to confirm that everything is as you expect, so you can watch for those as well! :)

If there is a color of paracord or biothane that you do not see available but would like to request, please send me a message! I am open to getting new colors. It just comes down to material costs and what I have available at the time. Thank you for checking out my shop! :)

Stop by booth C9 at the today through Sunday to pamper your pups for the holidays! If you come and can't find me (it's HUGE!), ask for the Crafter's Corner OR go to the end of the building with the stage. Facing the stage, turn left and go along the back wall. I'm here just a few booths back! Also, feel free to message me if you can't find me, and I'll try to keep track of messages! 😊 There are also maps available at the entrances!

I've missed my little business and all of you amazing people! πŸ’• I'm excited to share that I will be a vendor at the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show () THIS week, Wednesday through Sunday, November 6-10th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds! If you're in the area, I HIGHLY recommend coming to this show! It's absolutely massive with gifts of all kinds available, including all your favorite TPPC products in booth C9 back in the Crafter's Corner (only businesses selling handmade products could purchase a booth in this area).

I've been swamped with my day job as a high school science teacher, caring for all my animals, and managing my own health issues. It's left virtually no time for me to work on my business, as it is 100% run by myself, though my parents generously help me when I have in-person vendor shows. I'm excited to have this opportunity to get back into my work room, get myself set back up, and step back into this. 😁

For those followers who have been here for the long haul, you may remember that I had a pretty horrific experience with my last/first big Christmas show where I traveled to Nashville, TN. 😬 While the show itself was awful, I remember it as and event that showed me how amazing all of my customers were when you stepped up to help me when I needed it. I will never forget that! πŸ’•

Hopefully, this will be a redemption Christmas show!! πŸŽ… I stopped by last year to check it out, and it was PACKED! Fingers crossed there are many dog lovers in attendance! 🀞🏻If you come, please stop by, even just to say hello! If you need me, I'll be in my work room watching Christmas movies with a Christmas candle going, organizing and making some more products for the show. πŸŽ„

Hey, everyone! For those of you who are local, I'll be at tomorrow from 3-9pm on Carter Green, Carmel, IN! My parents are amazing and will help me load and unload everything since I'm struggling with back issues at the moment. I will have a lot of gear for sale, and I believe I have a decent amount of pride-themed items still available after my previous shows!

As always for any pride events, 10% of any money I make will go to an AMAZING local organization helping our LGBTQ+ youth. πŸ’•

Happy pride month, everyone! First and foremost, the plan is that I will be at Carmel Pride this Sunday, June 30th, from 3-9pm at Carter Green in Carmel, IN.

Now, I say that's the PLAN because I've been dealing with several health issues recently. The worst is a bulging disc that's pinching nerves in my back and causing extreme pain that travels down my leg. It started right after the school year ended. I'd hoped it wasΒ only a flare up of my normal back pain, as I've had spinal fusions in the past, but then it became absolutely unbearable to do things, sometimes making it impossible for me to even leave the bed for the day.

I'll be getting steroid injections next Friday, though I've had them many times before in my spine and other joints to no avail. Until then, I will definitely try to take it as easy as I possibly can on Friday and Saturday. Thankfully, I have a ketamine infusion Friday for my chronic pain, so that should at least tell the rest of my nervous system to calm down. πŸ˜‚

Since I last posted on here, I was also able to see an amazing geneticist, Dr. Francomano, who I'm fortunate to have practice less than 15 minutes from where I live. It was a long three year wait to see her, but it was WELL worth it! She diagnosed me with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and ordered tests that revealed CCI and potentially other issues as well, which could be answers to things I've struggled with for YEARS.

It may seem odd to share these things on a dog gear business page, but I choose to do so because I know that many of my customers and followers are also disabled service dog handlers. In that way, I've been really fortunate, because when I've been forced to take these long, unplanned absences from the business, I've been met with people who are extremely understanding, and I SINCERELY thank you all for that! πŸ’•

If anyone has questions about the things I've mentioned, feel free to ask! I (Gabby) am the only person behind this account. 😊

Hopefully, I'll see some of you this Sunday at Carmel Pride! And, as with all my pride events, 10% of all purchases will go to Indiana Youth Group, a local charity supporting LGBTQ+ youth in Indianapolis. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Day 4 of 5 at the Indy Winter Classic dog show! I expect today to be the busiest of all the days, and so far, that's on point! There are so many gorgeous dogs and great vendors! If you're near Indy, I highly recommend stopping by! I am across from ring 9 right in the middle of the venue. It's at the West Pavillion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and will run probably closer to 6pm today (they ran over a lot on Saturday last year). Tomorrow will be the final day of the event! Fingers crossed for some great sales this weekend! 🀞🏻😁

Day 2 of 5 at the Indy Winter Classic dog show! I only made one sale yesterday, but I expected the low traffic being a Wednesday during the day. Pretty much everyone there was there to show a dog, and they were zipping to and fro trying to make it to where they needed to be on time. πŸ˜‚ It's a little bit busier today, and I've at least made two sales, so that's improvement! But again, I expected it to be slower, primarily yesterday and today. Tomorrow will probably pick up more being Friday, and last year, Saturday was PACKED, and Sunday was very busy as well. So I think (hope) that's when most of the sales will come. 🀞🏻

There is another larger BioThane company here selling, which adds a whole other kind of challenge to the event for me. They were here last year as well, and I knew they were returning, but it's kind of a bummer to see so many more people stopping over there than here, not gonna lie. Unfortunately, I just can't compete with the prices of a company that has employees and larger equipment to produce more products at a lower cost, but I completely understand why many people need to mind their budget in this economy. I just hope people realize I'm not trying to overcharge them, but that I need to charge what it costs for ME to make these items.

Again, if you're here, stop by and say hello! It's at the State Fairgrounds, and I will be here until about 4pm today when I need to head out to a physical therapy appointment. 😊

I'm excited to announce that I will be a vendor at the Indy Winter Classic dog show again this year! I was a vendor at this show last year, and it was my best show ever. I was really worried whether or not I'd be able to manage this show with my surgery recovery and the blood clot, but I will be able to walk in my boot by the week of the show, and I'm now past the initial really high dose for my blood thinner, which had bad side effects. So, I've decided to take the leap and try this show again!

The show will be five days this year! Wednesday, January 31st through Sunday, February 4th, from 8am until around 4-5pm each day, depending on the event schedule and if anything runs late. This will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Once I learn where I will be located at the venue, I will post the information here so people can easily find me.

I may or may not be there on that Wednesday, at least in the morning, depending on what my lesson plans look like for my classes that day. If I need to be there for my students for a lab or something, then I will probably opt to only come for the afternoon that day. If that happens, I will post that as well, and I'll have sinage at my booth explaining such. 😊

I'm excited about this show, and I hope it's successful like last year! 🀞🏻

Happy 2024, everyone!! Hopefully, you all had a great start to the new year! I know that this is not dog collar/leash related, but it is one of my animal ventures I'm VERY much looking forward to in 2024! I will be breeding bearded dragons for the first time, which is something I have planned since I was in college (I studied animal science at Purdue if you didn't know that!). I have two stunning, healthy bearded dragons, Drogon and Meleys, and anticipate having hatchlings for sale late spring/early summer through early-to-mid fall. If you are potentially interested, I am beginning a waitlist now and can take your information. Please read the text on the photos to learn more of the details of the pairing and anticipated outcomes. If you need the text typed out for text-to-speech or something, please leave a comment or send a message, and I will copy/paste the text to you! (Sorry, I'm not trying to make it inaccessible, but there is way too much text to fit in a single IG post since the text count is limited.) If you have questions, feel free to comment below or send me a message if you prefer! 😊

My surgery went well today, and I'm back home snuggling with Oliver (THE pampered poodle 🐩) and trying to keep my pain under control. No pictures are graphic, but a few show fluoroscopic images from surgery if you're interested in stuff like that (I always am, lol).

I had osteochondritis dissecans of my navicular bone in my foot, which meant I had a chunk of bone and cartilage that was broken away and grinding against other bones and structures in my ankle, causing a lot of pain. In the photos, you can see the circled area that shows where the chunk was missing, and it was quite large! My doctor said it was about the size of a dime, which was a good 10-15% of that bone. It was enough that you could also see the instrument fut pretty far inside of it, too!

The other photos show a drawing explaining to my mom how he drilled up into the bone to allow the stem cells and bone graft (taken from a different bone in my ankle) can take hold and merge thoroughly. Hence why there is to be NO weight bearing for 6 weeks; I can't risk dislodging that bone graft.

I had an absolutely awful post-op nurse, and I was in horrific pain coming out of surgery. It's much better managed now, but it's still very painful. As such, I'll be laid up for quite a while.

If you're interested in ordering paracord items, like flower collars (or other patterns), or paracord leashes (which have BioThane handles for comfort!), then now would be a great time since I'll be laying around a lot and it would give me something to do! 😊

In the meantime, I also have some fun reading to do when I feel up to it (also pictured). If you didn't know, I'll be breeding my two bearded dragons sometime in 2024, which I've been very excitedly preparing for most of this year. 😁 I can post some pics to my story of my beautiful babies. πŸ’•

Thank you all for your support and understanding as I've been away from the business! I truly appreciate it, and I absolutely have the BEST customers and followers a girl and her poodle could ask for! πŸ₯°

12/14/2023

Hey, everyone!

I've been gone from the shop for a WHILE now, which I've hated, but it has been a necessary break. Teaching has been incredibly stressful this semester, and it's been taking a toll on my mental health, especially combined with the fact that we are building a MASSIVE chicken coop at home right now. It's nearly finished after many months of work, but the chickens have been spending days outside in the run, and their evenings sleep inside in their respective stock tanks. That's meant that every day, they have to be taken out and back in, all the stuff managed both inside and out, etc. So, even when I've been getting home from work, it's typically straight to chicken chores and helping with other things until it's bedtime.

I also struggle with chronic pain from multiple health issues, some of which have really flared up recently. Part of it is the shift to the cold weather (shout out to my fellow arthritis peeps βœ‹οΈ), which definitely doesn't help. To help with one issue, I'll be having ankle surgery next Thursday, which will require me to be completely off my right foot for 6 weeks. πŸ™ƒ

All that is to say, I'm very sorry for the lack of communication on my end. Honestly, it got to the point where I was very anxious about coming back because I was worried about disappointing people by not having availability to fulfill orders right now.

With the holidays quickly approaching, money is tight, and I still have gifts to purchase for some people. So, I've decided to open up two custom slots! For anyone who is interested in paracord items (like braided collars, flower collars, leashes), I will be laid up over winter break with my surgery, so let me know if you're someone looking specifically for paracord since I can do that from my bed! 😊

Please comment below if you'd like one of the custom spots. I'll send you a message sometime today (in order of who comments first) to see what you'd like to order and be sure it's realistic for me to get done in the next week.

Thank you all for being completely awesome, and I hope you are having a good holiday season! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
