I’m sharing this info about Bec Maier. She was well known in the greyhound world and used to vend at our GPA Indy picnics. If you would like to make a memorial contribution, please see the info and link below.
It's with great sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Bec Maier. Bec was 63 years old and is survived by her husband Wayne. Bec was a champion of the Retired Racing Greyhound and a lover of Whippets. Bec personally helped to move and find homes for hundreds of Retired Greyhounds. Bec put her heart and soul into the Heart of America Greyhound Gathering in Abilene for the past 10 years and raised over $500,000 to help Greyhounds find groups and homes. Bec traveled to many Greyhound events vending her beautiful stained glass and creative T-shirt designs and made lots of friends across the country. Bec will be sorely missed.

Most of us now know that Bec Maier passed away on Friday. There have been so many touching messages and love coming through Facebook that I thought we should have a memory donation. My vision is to post a memory of Bec and make a donation in memory of her. All money collected will be given to Wayne to assist him in his transition to life without her.

Update: he’s been found and is back home.
Now there is a Galgo running loose so keep your eyes open. Do not chase, only report a sighting to the group listed!

UPDATE: REUNITED!! Bus is home safe & sound after 23 days, 0 hours :)

Message from Owner: Bus got away from his owners while on a walk. An apple airtag is on his collar and pinging locations but he is on the move and crossing busy highways and roads. He is very skittish of people, do not chase. If spotted, call. We need help with additional sightings so he can be caught.

Tiza has been found!

Tiza has been FOUND!! She could use a load of good thoughts at the moment. She was clipped slightly by a car passing by & has some issues with one leg along with some bleeding. 🥺 We’re hopeful that her injuries aren’t too serious but she’s been rushed to the emergency vet for an exam. We’ll keep everyone posted once we know more. 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻 Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough for everyone’s support thru this 48 hour ordeal. We greatly appreciate each & every one of you! I’m hoping for a good night of sleep tonight once we get an update on our girl.

UPDATE: Tiza has been found!
Sometimes I hate FB! I noticed folks were sharing the last post but unfortunately it just goes to our FB page & not the actual post so please reshare this one!

We have a loose foster dog just north of Indianapolis, IN in Carmel, IN. She’s wearing an AirTag & is very shy with strangers. Her last ping of the AirTag put her on Ditch Road in Carmel.
If there’s anyone who can help spot her, please call us at 317-514-9672. We’ll share more details as we have them & will update this post. She was in the process of being transferred to a temporary foster. She has a purple/pink martingale collar on & is dragging a 6’ leash. PLEASE DO NOT CHASE! Call the number above!

Message from Owner: Daisy was last seen around 6pm last night and got out. She has not come back . She is a bit timid but not aggressive. She loves plush toys.
