Canyon's Companion Dog Coming together to raise money to train a shelter dog as an autism companion dog for 10 year old Canyon Rice. Changing a life and saving a life.

Canyon is a 10 year old with severe autism. He is nonverbal and has severe anxiety. Through volunteering at FACE, I (Canyon's mother) discovered that when a dog visited, Canyon's overall mood improved. He also became less anxious. This is how the idea was born. As an animal advocate and FACE volunteer, one thing was for sure...the dog would have to be a rescue. A trainer was recommended and she ha

s agreed to comb the shelters for the right dog. The dog will be fully trained prior to coming home. In the meantime, I will keep bringing adoptable FACE dogs home for visits.
