More than a million pets in the US have heartworms.

April is Heartworm Awareness month, and we'll be sharing information on how you can protect your pet from this deadly disease. The American Heartworm Society recommends heartworm testing once a year and using heartworm prevention all year long. Missing just one dose of heartworm prevention can lead to a pet getting infected. If you're headed to your veterinarian’s office this spring for an annual check-up, be sure you leave the clinic with heartworm prevention.

This adorable girl is a 9 year old Beagle mix who came to see us after recently visiting the emergency vet for neck pain. Her owner reported that she seems to be feeling a lot better and we sent her home with a joint supplement to try.
