🇺🇸Just like a true soldier, my mission is almost done… I didn’t sleep for over 24 hours yesterday, but tonight, err this morning @0333 hours, I am relieved! I have worked so hard on my business plan. I am thrilled with my work ethic. I am thrilled with the ones who have taken the time out to help me: Trevor Storm (Butler student who provided me with his financial spreadsheet back when I was in Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center’s Milestone Circles, Scott Weigel (SCORE Mentors,) Mark Clements (VetBiz Central,) Mr. Lloyd of Greenhouse Megastore, my fantastic, wonderful, God-fearing accountability 😇 partner Stephanie Dennis-Clay of Westlyn Avenue Candle Co., and even my son who just asked me when I went to use the restroom “How’s your business going?”

I want to cry but I think I better sleep first, wake up and tweak it some more, then hit submit.

Years ago, I attended a conference in Louisville, Kentucky held by Farmer Veteran Coalition. I remember the vegetarian entreé served in the hotel… a mushroom burger and it was SOOO delicious! The picture I took for my FB picture Kimberly D. Gorham has never been changed - It’s the photo I took at the conference!

I remember the showing of the film Terra Firma… I remember being introduced to Farm Credit. Learning that you wanted to establish a Veteran Outreach Coordinator in Indiana. That conference changed.my.entire.life. Thank you Michael O’Gorman!

A lot has changed since then. Not all good. But I can tell you that my commitment has never waivered. Never waned. I just had to “take care of a few things.”

But I’m back. And your commitment to veterans, FARMING VETERANS is refreshing! You have have my attention. Blow out your candles and make a wish! 🎂

A friend told me this today… I knew EXACTLY what background I would use!

Applying for this grant is EXHAUSTING!! I actually hate paperwork but God has been so good to me that I just can’t tell it all! But I WILL SAY, that my mortgage went from 3.875 down to 2.5% today… 🚀

I don’t feel worthy of such… but I guess that’s why it’s called GRACE! 😇

Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of tea, tending to your garden, or savoring a spoonful of local honey, take time to nourish your body and mind. I am not eating because I am focused on this business. But if I don’t eat or sleep right, I AM NOT TREATING MYSELF RIGHT.

Thank you for posting this U.S. Department of Agriculture!

I recently loved learning that Henry Ford had George Washington Carver out to his residence and if I am not mistaken, Ford had a room/house built for him as he was an avid gardener/botanist/soil scientist! 🧑🏾‍🌾

I cannot wait to go to Henry Ford’s Museum one day!

During , we honor the historic contributions of Black farmers, ranchers, and innovators who have shaped American agriculture. Their legacy continues to provide food, fiber, and fuel for our nation while inspiring the next generation of agricultural leaders.
