Yesterday was a mix of productivity and exhaustion.

I started the day by cleaning out the chicken coop and letting the sun dry it out before moving it closer to the house to protect the girls (hens) from the frigid weather rolling in. It was a necessary task, but I felt drained—low on energy and not quite myself.

I also tuned into the Cornell Cut Flowers seminar, which was packed with great insights on greenhouse and high tunnel management, pest control, and winter prep. It was a reminder that keeping things clean and managing weeds and pests proactively makes a big difference in plant health. Definitely taking notes for the upcoming growing season!

Hoping for more energy, but grateful for the progress made! February 19th, 2025 is on the books… I’m so tired, I went back a month! What do the EMTs ask you — “Excuse me miss, do you know what day it is?” 🤣🤣🤣 Me: “No. No sir I don’t!”

I have always loved AG (not my son Alexander Gorham)! 😂 But agriculture!👩🏾‍🌾 I remember MAKING SURE we always went to the State Fair and always went to the “The Barns” so we could get educated on the interactive displays about our state’s farming communities! 💙💛💙💛

Wanna hear a funny story…?👂🏾 I’m FULL of ‘em!

So this afternoon, I was speaking to my VBOC (Veteran Business Outreach Center) counselor VetBiz Central Mark… about all the tasks I had for the day. I talked about all the registrations that I need to do and mentioned the Indiana Grown Symposium! So why does Mark do? Classic Mark fashion to go to the website or social media and man-O-MAN did we have a good laugh!

He asked, have you ever grown horseradish and ai replied that I had. He said, he had some and was trying to grind it up in a blender, commenting “That stuff is hard to grind…” and then said 🤭🤭(I’m giggling as I type this) …”I had to get goggles 🥽 “ 🤣🤣🤣 “If you want your sinuses cleared, get some horseradish! I had a corned beef with horseradish today actually!” 🤧

I enjoyed being out in the sunshine this weekend! My son helped tidy up and used those 💪🏾 (and saved momma’s knees)… as a result - the backyard looks renewed! Even saw my first 🐝 bees!
