I said that i wanted to post alot of the things we are getting done in the shop, at the begining of the year. Well, i have failed so far on that. It has been a crazy first year being full time, i never thought it would get this busy. Sooooo....with that being said, here is something we worked on and finished for a customer. The board was not the final spot for it, just something to lay it on to show the finished skin.

Had a unique opportunity come into the shop. Customer found this 216" buck while shed hunting. It had been sitting with the hide still on it and the antlers were sun bleached. I was able to clean, degrease and whiten the skull and completely re-color the entire rack for him. Yes, there is a salvage tag for this deer.

Just wanted to let customers know, i am getting busier everyday and I will be in the shop Monday-Sunday to get your euro mount and fur tanned. I am trying to make your turn around time as short as possible but I don't want to sacrifice the quality for a fast return.

A very unique opportunity came into the shop today. A gentleman who has trapped for over 60yrs brought in racc**n that is all white, witht the exception of faint, grey rings around its tail. I am not sure what im going to do with it, either tan it or do a full body mount. Either way, I am humbled that the trapper chose to offer it to me.

Pair of Black bear skulls just finished up for a customer. The degreasing process is the longest part with any skull, but bears and hogs are the worst.

Also a comparison of an Iowa caught beaver (light) next to a northern Minnesota beaver (dark). We tanned these and plan on making mittens out of them.

Well, we received a large lot of C**n Bacalum (c**n p***s bone). They were cleaned, whitened and polished. We have over 70 of them finished. We will be listing them at $7 ea. They are also known by their popular name, Arkansas toothpicks.

We recently started tanning fur as well as skull mounts. We have been working on hides for a few months, making sure we can offer a soft, pliable tanned fur to customers. It may be difficult to see, but there is a photo of a beaver hide we tanned that is draped over my wrist. That is the product we wanted to produce, soft fur and not stiff hides that were like a board. We also did this turkey skull for a customer and really liked the outcome. Let us know what you think.

We have taken on a new adventure to add to the skull mount business. With the current fur market and the dismal outlook for future markets, we have made the decision to start tanning fur. For those who are not wanting to sell your fur for the low dollars that are being offered, have it soft tanned and hang it in the trophy room. I will have pictures posted soon of the fur we have already tanned.

I posted earlier that we were offering new pedestal and wall mounts for your skulls. We recently tried something that some may like and others may not. We will be offering this for those who would like. Electrical current was used to produce the veins and small fingers. We then used epoxy resin with coloring to fill in the deeper veins.
