We train GSPs, Standard Poodles and the resulting offspring puppies to hunt upland game birds. Our breeding dogs have been selected to have pointing and hunting instincts with great temperaments.
We have bred a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) with a Standard Poodle to develop a more hypoallergenic bird dog for hunters with allergies. The resulting litter is exceptional. These puppies exhibit a natural pointing instinct, are highly driven, shed less than a GSP, and have a more hypoallergenic coat.

GSPPBirdDogs - Pappy is a German Shorthaired Pointer Poodle bred from great genetics and pointing instincts with both parents, Tillie and Scout.
You can see that his hair is more like a German Wire-Haired Pointer, but it is actually shorter Poodle hypoallergenic hair. Of course, burs and stickers may be an issue, however his hair is courser than a poodle and easier to remove these burs.

Prior to filming this video, the puppies had been exposed to birds multiple times. It is important not to use this video as the initial introduction of your puppy to birds, as it could be frightening for them.

First, we go on a little walkabout with other older dogs. We don't talk much during walk as we want puppies to explore.
We walk into and around the trees to get the puppies into other areas.
Our puppies have already been acclimated to pigeon before this video, so don't just get a young puppy this close to a flyaway pigeon. We are looking for the stand and point as the bird fly away. All this GSP x Standard Poodle litter puppies have the natural pointing instinct in them.
