Here's a great chance to start working with reptiles if you want to DFW reptarium is the top notch reptile store and the DFW reptile area. So if you want to work with good people and have good clean fun this is the place to do it. I highly recommend you apply for this job. If I was closer to that side of town I jumped on it in a New York minute

Good afternoon I just want to give you a little information on crickets. Some of you may know that I've been breeding crickets for close to 20 years
Banded crickets live 6 to 8 weeks. So if you will buy adult crickets that means they are on the last week of their life

Gray crickets live 5 to 6 weeks

Crickets need a lot of air so if you have a smooth sided container they will not crawl up.

I do not recommend water crystals for crickets. They are fine for roaches. But like I tell people when you're thirsty do you go to the refrigerator and drink jello. Also where do you usually hear crickets. Buy water. So get a sponge that rainses is clean and get yourself a water reservoir from a pet store. Otherwise take that sponge (I use foam rubber.) Cut it out to fit in a lid. You cannot just put water in there because the Crickets will drown.

Keep your crickets around 75 degrees that way they don't grow fast. And it prolongs their life.

If you happen to have to keep them warmer than that I suggest to buy a size smaller than you need.

Fruits and vegetables are real good but they're not a source of water. Just remember what gets into your crickets is going to also get into your reptile.

Keep the cage clean. If the Crickets are dying and they're still young there's either too warm too cold or not enough water and food or air. I hope this clears up a few things.
