Update 1/9: Where is my family? Do you know my name? The shelters and rescues are full! I have nowhere to go!

This camera shy gal was wandering along Greenwood Street this past weekend (1/4) trying to find her way back home. She couldn't provide any information as to where she lives and is now safe with DCO Gary Hadsell waiting for her family and to go home to her own bed. PUPDATE (1/13): Mia is HOME SAFE!!!
Her family, under the advice of experienced tracker/trapper, Evelyn Ashton, went searching early this morning and Mia was heard howling in the woods. She eventually made her way to the sound of her Mom's voice! Thank you to Evelyn, her teammates and Virtual Space Photography for assisting the family in their search for sweet Mia! Naples, NY

Involved in car accident on Basset Rd off of Italy Valley Rd Friday night (1/10). She jumped from the window and ran off. Thankfully her Dad is okay. This girl is afraid of men and will be extremely skittish of everyone! Please do not call out to her, whistle at, follow on foot or in vehicles, chase, stare at, or try to grab her!

Thanks to a real hero today (1/7), this little man was brought to warmth and safety on Leader Rd between 96A and MacDougall Rd. He was so relieved to get out of the brutal cold wind and is safe and sound for the night while his temporary guardian searches for his family.

Please help find my family!

This little munchkin showed up in the driveway of a kind homeowner on Phelps St who brought him inside for a warm meal and soft place to sleep. He looks to be recently groomed and the finder has called neighbors and reported him to the Sheriff's Dept. The Ontario County Humane Society will be notified.

PUPDATE: HOME!!!

Kato is off and running from his home in the 8900 block of State Rt 89 today (12/28) near Lower Lakewood Dr. His family is in the midst of moving and in the chaos, Kato saw his chance to head out on an adventure. He's 10 yrs. old, about 100 lbs and is a super friendly boy. If you have seen him or rounded him up, please call his worried family right away.

Wary of strangers!

Finny was visiting with family Thurs morning (12/26) when he went missing from their home on Hawk's View Dr. off of Coykendall Rd. He is not from the area and is wary of strangers so please do not call out to, follow on foot or in vehicles, whistle at, or make forward movement in his direction if you see him.

He is currently being fostered with a gentle big brother dog, and an older cat. Ben has bonded in just a few days with the foster parent and the other dog in the home. He takes cues from the other dog and finds much comfort in following him around. The two dogs play together much of the day and it’s wonderful for his socialization and also to help him burn that pup energy! We think he will be happiest and most successful in a home that has at least 1 other friendly, young(ish) playful dog. He shares toys really well and loves to play nonstop!

He also needs a home where he can take his time warming up, and would thrive in a situation in which he gets some good outdoor time (fenced yard is best!), and has plenty of daily attention and stimulation. He would LOVE to learn new things with positive reinforcement techniques, and would be terrific at dog sports like Agility.
He is very cat friendly! He does try to play with the cat in his home, he is respectful of boundaries when the cat lets him know that he’s not interested.

Ben can be nervous at initial meetings with people or other animals, but with appropriate reassurance, and letting him take things at his own pace, he gains confidence. Being passed off to several different homes in his very short young life leaves a dog a bit unsure and nervous. This should get much better once he is in a safe, loving, stable home.

He is completely child friendly, however since he in still in the stage of playfully nipping, he will need monitoring and kind, gentle guidance with younger children. He has been great with the children he has been around.

Summary
If you are interested in adopting Ben, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca, Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can’t do home visits where we don’t have local volunteers.Ben is all love! He is sweet, bouncy, and brilliantly smart! He is emblematic of his breed with a keen, curious intelligence. He adorably c***s his head and looks with a questioning expression when he encounters new things! He is a fast learner, which is wonderful and makes working with him so much fun, but because he is so smart, he can get easily bored, so he needs people who really like to interact and with whom he will get both mental and physical stimulation.

STILL MISSING - Locke/Groton, NY

Lost since 11/14 - Please HELP!
Note: The dog hit by a car on Tollgate Rd was not Lucy.

Sweet Lucy managed to escape from her home earlier this month 11/14/24 in the 13000 block of State Rt. 90 located between Powers and Summer Hill - Locke Town Line Rds. Lucy is a beloved family member and as sweet as they come. She is microchipped and her family is devastated without her. PUPDATE (10/21): HOME SAFE!!!

This 8 month old boy is newly adopted and slipped his collar while out on a walk yesterday (10/19) near the Village Solar apartments on Village Circle Dr near Warren Rd and Oakwood Dr. He is very skittish and now lost in an unfamiliar area, so please do not engage with him in any way. He was wearing the black and brown sweater shown in the photo and is microchipped. If seen, please call his family right away who have been coached in the tried and true methods of luring a panicked dog in flight mode to safety. If you see him in your yard, please put food out and let us or the family know right away!

Where is my family?

This beautiful German Shepherd was found on Chapin Street on Thursday (10/17) without any ID or clues to find his/her family. These two were out for a hike near the corner of Rte 79 and West Hill Rd last Sunday (9/22) when something caught their eye and off they went. They both are wearing collars with tags but are skittish and wary of strangers. The smaller black pup is male and the tri-colored pup is female. If you have seen either one at any time, please call their worried family at the number listed above.
