To help us get through the winter doldrums, and to help tire Miko and her busy little brain out, I am teaching her to ride in a cart. We'll also use this as one of her Elite Performer tricks. This is the 2nd training session.

We purchased this cart for Kiyo as she aged. Miko will already know how to be chauffeured in luxury when she is a dowager.

It's such a beautiful sunny morning, so we took a lovely hike along Willow Creek Road, the south rim train (Taughannock SP) and back along the Black Diamond Trail.

It was cold out! I bundled up like the Michelin man; the dogs delighted in the temperatures. They still had plenty of gas left when we arrived home, and enjoyed a bit of rough housing.

It snowed here in upstate NY, and is bitterly cold (5 degrees this a.m.) Here's Miko, tracking through the white stuff for the 1st time. If you've wondered 'do dogs just look at where the track goes or are they actually tracking?' here's the answer.
My lead handling is wretched (GoPro not working); I'm holding the lead w/ one hand and my phone with the other.
*Super!* happy with how ignored deer/squirrel/human cross tracks!! Gooooood girl!
(About 3 minutes of the track is missing - the camera went off as we were just about to cross the road & I was concentrating on her, not filming.)

Miko is a hoot! While Toka enjoyed playing in the water during his underwater treadmill session today, The Devine Miss M and I strolled around campus. She made tracks directly to the horse pasture, and was disappointed none of her large 4-legged friends were there. She scanned the pasture carefully, and kept searching.

Did she miss seeing her big pals? I suspect it's more that she missed the cookies she gets when she politely looks at them, then looks at me (I'm the Pez dispenser of goodies when she behaves nicely around them).

Baby Puppy and Mister received their annual 'Gift of Health' checkups today. They got to visit with their favorite vet, Dr. (Auntie) Kathy. Before and after, they visited with the staff at Lake Road Vets, and were told they are lovely and well behaved.
(They also scarfed down nearly a pound of Saint Rocco's treats between them.) Overall, a good, easy, fun visit.

We had to stop on the drive home to check out the *GIANT* Grinch in someone's front yard - the thing must be 20 feet tall.
