We have some very exciting news!

As most of you know, over the past couple of years we have grown in size and in the number of clients we serve. This growth has been a blessing in so many ways, but it has also been a bit of a curse in that it can sometimes be difficult to offer appointments to our clients in a timely manner.

We have been searching for another Doctor to add to our wonderful team, but due to the world wide veterinarian shortage, it has been a bit of a struggle. We also want to ensure that any doctor or staff member that joins our team is the best fit...for us, for them, but most importantly, for YOU, our awesome clients!

That being said, we are excited to announce that we have finally found an amazing doctor to join our growing team!

Dr. Page is a 2008 graduate of the UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and has practiced in WI ever since. He brings years of experience in shelter medicine, emergency medicine, and small animal general medicine to our clinic. Dr. Page will officially be starting mid May, and he will be seeing appointments 3 days a week, which will greatly increase the amount of available appointments we have for our clients.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Page to our TLVC family!

Well, we are here to tell you that is just not true!

Sometimes we get to play with baby goats, too! 😍

These kids are just 2 days old, and were struggling a bit. We have been working hard to get them back on their feet, er, hooves, and feeling better!

If you or someone you know is trying to obtain their pet's medical records from Tender Touch, please send a request to the following email address:

We are NOT the ones in charge of releasing records, nor do we have access to the records at Tender Touch!! We are only posting on the behalf of the person in charge of releasing records, as they are not able to post on the Facebook or website pages for Tender Touch (due to the estate being in probate).

If you are looking to have your pet's medical records emailed to another clinic, you will be required to fill out a release form (per the representative at Tender Touch).

If you are just wanting a copy of your pet's records emailed to you directly, you will not need to fill out a release form.

As we look back on 2024, we are so proud of our progress as a veterinary clinic, and so amazed by the love and support we have received from our clients and the communities we serve, especially as we transitioned into our new facility.

Did you know that November is senior pet awareness month??

Here are some helpful tips to ensure your pet stays happy and healthy in their golden years:

1. Be a "Watch Dog"
Nobody knows your pet as well as you do! Keep a watchful eye out for sudden changes in your pet such as behavior, appearance, activity level, or appetite.

2. Maintain Regular Health Exams
Regular veterinary exams are recommended every 6 months, or a minimum of every 12 months for our aging pets. These exams are critical at detecting underlying health problems early, giving pet owners a chance to be proactive in their pet's health, as opposed to reactive.

3. Remember: Food = Fuel
A healthy weight and diet are vital in maintaining your aging pet's health. Picking the appropriate food for your aging pet and feeding the correct amount ensures they are receiving the nutrients needed for senior pets, while also keeping them from gaining too much weight.

4. Keep 'em Active
Senior pets are more prone to loss of muscle mass and cognitive function in general, let alone if they are not maintaining an active lifestyle. Ask your veterinarian to help you set a target activity level for your pet to help ensure your pet stays active without overdoing it.

5. Know the Signs
Watch for symptoms and signs that can indicate a problem or pain in your senior pet. Those include:
-Changes in urination (increased/decreased urine frequency)
-Vomiting and/or diarrhea
-Sore mouth or sudden change in appetite
-Sudden weight loss/gain
-Difficulty breathing and/or excessive coughing
-Hair loss or change in quality of coat
-Weakness, lethargy, or sudden change in activity level
-Lameness and/or limping

As pets age, it is natural for them to slow down a bit, but it is easy to mistake slowing down with signs of pain. If you think your senior pet is showing signs of pain, or any other underlying issue, give us a call. We are dedicated to helping you ensure your pet is living their best life, well into the golden years!

We have some important information regarding Dr. Sue Fluhr from Tender Touch.

There will be a memorial for Dr. Sue this Sunday, November 17th from 10:30am - 12:00pm at the St. Lawrence Fire Department in Hartford. The Celebration of Life will be held in the back of the fire department, so if you plan on attending, please do not park in front of the building and block the fire doors.

We have been in contact with the person in charge of her estate, and although they are only in town for the next few days, they will be trying to do what they can to get records out to clients while they are here. They will be back in town in December, and they will work on releasing more records at that time.

**** IMPORTANT UPDATE! ****

The representative from Dr Sue’s estate will have release forms for records at the Celebration of Life this Sunday!
If you would like your records released to another vet clinic, please be prepared to fill out a release form, and please have the email address of the clinic you would like records sent to, so those working to get records out don’t have to do that extra work!

ALSO, if you would like make a donation in Dr Sue’s name, she did work closely with GRRoW (Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin), and the Washington County Humane Society. We have no doubt that she would have preferred donations go to either of those organizations.

Dr. Sue truly touched the lives of so many in and around the community. It would be wonderful to have the community she so loved come celebrate her life this weekend.
