Marshall
Today we took our good boy Marshall to the Pack Walk to practice leash handling skills with him. He did great!
GUS DID AMAZING AT LOWES!
Here you see Gus remaining focused and not distracted by customers - a stark shift from when he initially came to us for training and reacted to everything around him.
Oscar came here for being reactive to just about everything outside, bikes, runners, cars , loud noises, dogs , people you name it he reacted to it. Here he is walking the gauntlet to get out of Lowe’s. He did fantastic.
Here we have Gus the Poodle and Louie the Pitbull mix for a training session.
Louie came to us very reactive, especially around dogs, uncontrollably lunging and barking at them. It became impossible to take Louie on a walk because he was so reactive and everything stimulated him.
We have worked with Louie and his owner, Tom, on leash handling skills and specific corrections to teach Louie to not be distracted by things going on around him.
We are really proud of Louie and his progress!
Great turn out today. We just want to thank everyone for coming and we will see you on the next one.
Milo and Tabatha are here for aggression with strangers and leash reactivity. After some time here they’re both doing fantastic on our trip to Lowe’s.
Rico came here for extreme food guarding. After 3 weeks he’s ready to go home.
Today was the end of an era. Max came into my life for a reason 14 yrs ago at Woodbridge animal shelter. He was there one year and one day before I took him home. I went to visit and walk him every week until I was able to take him home. He’s been with me through all the good times and bad. He had a gift of helping other dogs trust that was remarkable. He single handedly helped me rehab more aggressive dogs then I could possibly count. He was the definition of loyalty to the point that most people can’t even comprehend. He loved his people more than words can describe and showed this until the bitter end. When his health was compromised he still mustered up the energy to be right by my side even though I knew it took every morsel of his being to be there. If it were up to him he would still be here suffering so he wouldn’t let me down and that I couldn’t let happen. I will miss you buddy but we had a good run of 13yrs that no one can take way from us. Until we meet again sweet boy.
Ever walk down the street and see people walking with a group of Greyhounds? They get along famously and coexist without issue mostly but when it comes to other breed dogs not so much. Greyhounds are bred and used for racing and they only see other greyhounds from birth . They’re not socialized intentionally so they maintain their prey drive. With a little work they can coexist perfectly with other breeds. Here is Georgio that was very fear aggressive with my dude Diesel.
Toby arrived extremely animal and dog reactive. After a few weeks of training he really turned it around and this was the result.
Nova arrived with his owner wearing a harness. He was uncontrollable with excitement around animals and some people. After 90 minutes his owner was able to peacefully handle him around dogs. We did an equipment change from the harness to prong collar and then did leash handling skills. This was the result after 3 other trainers failed and this was only 90 minutes.
My client has two dogs that were fighting over toys. They had a lot of pent up energy from not being walked regularly. The dogs unruly behavior on leash prevented their mom from enjoying a nice afternoon walk with her dogs. Some new leash handling skills learned along with new equipment has set the mom up for successfully walking her dogs enjoyably. The toy aggression was addressed after the fact. You always want to take the edge off and tire the dogs out a bit before training starts for any aggressive behaviors.
Leia the Great Dane came here very reactive to dogs. Her mom is moving to a new place that is very dog friendly and needed her girl to be able to be around dogs and not lunge and bark her head off. This is her progress
Jade came here extremely dog and people aggressive. She’s been one of the toughest cases in a long time but her progress is amazing. After her reactions to other dogs subsided we proofed the behavior with some basic obedience just to reinforce directions under previous stressful situations
Stevie came here for being dog reactive on and off leash. She was good with dogs before her family relocated and after a little extra socialization this is where she’s at.
Relocating/moving sometimes will cause fear based aggression but with training you can get your dog back to being comfortable around dogs again.
Bodhi was very dominant with other dogs. Then he met Kimber lol.
Josh is the shopping cart guy at Home Depot. We go there almost daily with dogs that are in training and every time he politely asks if he can pet them. We kindly decline his offer of affection but I always feel bad because he never gets to pet them. Well today we brought Diesel and Kimber for him to say hello to and he finally get to pet them. Josh is one of the kindest human being with dogs and seeing this brought a tear to my eye and made my day. Just because someone is different doesn’t mean they don’t have anything to offer. Diesel and Kimber found a new lifelong friend and Josh couldn’t be happier.
Dharma came here very dog reactive and could not be off leash around dogs. This is her now right before training is over.
Donatella is a work in progress. This short video may not seem like much but the fact that she’s not straight up attacking anymore is amazing. You can see the bite gloves Julia is wearing, so she wouldn’t get carved up. It was a rough start but she turned the corner and is improving more and more everyday.
