Guys, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows here with horses. Instagram is fake news….we laugh at stupid mistakes but only after we cry about them (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot). There are times when you feel like you’ve conquered the world and you’re unstoppable, but that’s probably only one line of tempis, one ditch, or one misstep in front of an oxer away from gut wrenching failure. But here we are, participating in arguably the most difficult sport there is…the sport where we get to do the crazy Vulcan mind meld and use our wicked Jedi skillz to ride a horse around and do fancy or brave or strong or fast stuff. But….there is always someone fancier, always someone braver, always someone stronger or faster. So, my friends, assemble your tribe carefully. It may be big, it may be small, but you need a tribe that sticks with you and supports you, trusts you to support them, doesn’t rain on your parade and is there with a hug when it sucks… (and knows where to find a lighter to burn a dressage test now and then) Thanks Paige, for being one of the best competition buddies I’ve ever known. .eventin07

Have you seen the new super soft an beautiful patterned belts from ? They are the elastic belt reimagined. I’m not a trend follower but I wear a belt on my breeches Every. Darn. Day. Why? Because it’s just the rules around here. These elastic belts are super soft but their attention to detail and curated style are not “hoodie and leggings” attire. So they pass the Trinity test! Thank you Tiffany for creating yet another beautiful yet functional piece of wizardry!

A huge shout out to Marissa Gentner and . These winter boots have been a staple in my wardrobe and after I wore them on for the first cold day I saw they needed a repair (I had blown through the rear spine with my spurs…(which, erm, I tend to wear all day. Oops) Marissa to the rescue!!! She was able to help@me have them repaired and back in time for me to get back to work with toasty toes in no time!!! Hooray for Pisano’s repair and the awesome customer support at The Distinguished Rider!! For me, the Kingsley boots are still unmatched in fit and quality. Any time I need a repair it’s simply because I wear the heck out of them! Merry Christmas!

Sometimes life sends you sideways!
We regret that a family emergency has led to cancellation of lessons for the remainder of December. Due to the need for frequent travel I will be contacting regular lesson students when I’m able to be in the area. All full training schedules will be maintained by our awesome team at home. Did you see the cool new shirts from new brand at ??? I was intrigued and bought one. I’m so impressed. A huge thank you to The Dressage Experience for managing the HPNJ dressage at Stone Tavern I/II shows this weekend! What a great chance to see friends and give competitors last minute qualifications. I have never been at a show with more changeable weather. The staff, volunteers and all of the officials worked so hard to get all the riders the chance to get their rides in around record temps, then thunderstorms and today even more rain! It was a great opportunity to test the horses for their confidence in the ring! We are truly grateful for all the hard work that went into organizing and managing the show! Thank you!

The Trinity Boys went out to play this weekend. 🐢 Turtle (Totolegro by ) and 🎩 Toque (Canadream Kelbeck YouAndMe) put in some time at the excellent show run by The Dressage Experience at the . We didn’t break any records but Turtle made his maiden voyage down centerline and shocked me with his ringcraft (what a great guy!) and improved in his suppleness and relaxation over the weekend. I’m looking forward to helping him get confidence so he can show off like his big/little brother Toque, who is still a newbie to the PSG and we are still working on bringing the homework into the show ring. Good job, boys! Thank you, Steve and Paige for helping me get Turtle out. Having bought him as a baby, he truly is a Banks family horse. ❤️
