🚨‼️ATTENTION! HELP NEEDED THIS WEEK🚨‼️

I have started to reschedule some of our tours that had to be canceled during the past two hurricanes. Starting this coming Saturday I have a fully booked day of tours. I was so confident that we would be all done today with clean up around the facility… but that didn’t go as planned. I have now unfortunately horribly messed up my back and the pain is pretty unbearable at this point and I can barely move. (Don’t worry I promise not to reschedule your tours again)
I am reaching out for one last push to get this cleanup finished! We are really so close to being done but there is no way I can finish on my own! I can offer you a future visit for an official tour for free if you can volunteer at least 5 hours of your time before Saturday (bring your friends so they can get free tours too)!!!
Please message me if you are able to help, we would really appreciate it and the animals are looking forward to having tours back!!

Happy to have S&H Power Services Inc helping out Tampa Electric all the way from Nova Scotia on our property working so hard today! We are so thankful and all I could do to show them thanks was offer them some lukewarm water bottles and some animal therapy! Unfortunately our transformer actually EXPLODED during the storm so they had to completely replace it! While waiting for the new transformer to come (only took them 10 minutes to get it here! Can’t believe how fast they work!) I was able to give them a quick tour to meet all of the animals that they are helping get power back to! Hopefully I was able to make their long day working in this heat a bit more enjoyable! They are working so hard and incredibly fast!! They have most of our neighbors around us back up with power and hopefully it won’t be much longer for us!!

Newest dilemma… there seems to be a raw chicken shortage. Since everyone is out of power they are buying up all the food that can be cooked on a grill!!! We have lots of animals who only eat chicken! If you are at the store (Riverview and nearby areas only, since there is also a gas shortage I can’t travel far) let me know so I can get there asap! After today we will be completely out. I also am helping another zoo nearby locate some as well as they are having the same problem. What I am mainly looking for is chicken hearts, gizzards, liver and drumsticks/ quarters. We are also looking for local places with crickets and worms! Thank you for keeping an eye out!

We are looking for gas for our generator. We are using it as sparingly as possible but unfortunately are coming close to running out of what we got while prepping for the storm!!! It’s hooked up only to keep the sharks and eels alive, to one fridge to keep the animals food, a fan for the nursery animals who we absolutely can’t let overheat, and to WiFi to keep conected with the outside world. We have gotten lots of advice on how to find gas, we have followed that advice and are still coming home empty. I can’t keep driving around hoping to get gas because now my car is running out. I can’t continue to sit in gas lines for hours just to get to the pump and them have run out of gas. If anyone has their power back on and has left over gas cans please bring it over! I am more than willing to buy it from you! Thanks to everyone that has been so kind in what has been a hard time for everyone.

Can someone please explain to me why this person, who has clearly never been to our facility(based on the fact all their other reviews are based in Australia), thought it was a good idea to leave me this one star review during a natural disaster. I am absolutely SICK to my stomach, I had to leave my house to go get enough service on my phone so that I could respond to her. If you don’t think that these animals belong in captivity I am more that willing to have an educated and respectful conversation on why that isn’t always true, but to leave this review in the middle a storm is beyond tasteless. I am happy to announce that all of my animals made it through the storm unharmed, as they were put in temporary enclosures in the safety of my home. I am also happy to announce that we build our enclosures knowing that hurricanes are a possibility, all of our enclosures made it through the storm still in one piece. While there is damage and a lot of cleanup to be done all of the animals will be returning back into their enclosures over today and tomorrow. If you have been to our facility (and you aren’t busy with your own storm clean up) please take the time to leave us your own review on google to burry this bad one!

Unfortunately tours at least through this weekend will need to be rescheduled. As soon as I have some better cell service I will individually text everyone with tours. I know it’s disappointing as some of you were already rescheduled from the last hurricane. I promise when you do get your tour I will make sure you have an amazing time! For now please be patient as we have a lot of cleaning up to do. We are very lucky to all be safe (us humans and the animals!) thank you so much for understanding.

While the humans are boarding up windows and packing up animals, Flash is chilling. Patiently waiting his turn to be packed up in his crate. I wish I could feel as calm and relaxed as him with the incoming direct hit to us from Hurricane Milton.

After about two weeks of only being allowed supervised playtime… MoMo and MiMi are now officially living in the same habitat and getting along great!
It definitely wasn’t love at first sight but I have worked with them every day to get them to this point and I am so happy they made it!

❤️❤️This is MoMos future girlfriend!❤️❤️
Lemurs rely on interactions with other lemurs for protection, grooming, and social bonding so it was very important to us to find MoMo a friend.
Once MiMi is settled into her new home we will slowly introduce the two into living together in the same enclosure.
She is warming up to us so very quickly and she is so incredibly sweet!
