Some pics of Mama and Spot. For those who have followed my journey with my outdoor cats, hopefully you remember how much Mama loved Bond. Bond was a tuxedo. I find it so fitting that she has chosen Spot. He doesn't look like Bond, he's a cow, not a tux, but, same color.

Ok. So, a Duchess update. If yall remember, when she first came here, she pretty much wanted to unalive me. Now, almost 4 months later, if I don't pet her immediately, whether it's me going to her, or her running to me (yes! She runs to me sometimes!), she talks to me, until she gets pets! If you remember, because of her hostility, I said she was to be my litmus test. Well, I'm winning! She's SO sweet and SO soft!. Love that little psycho!

I have some bad news.... Patch passed away tonight at 7:24 pm. He had been losing some weight, and after researching, I believe he had hyperthyroidism. He was still eating up until yesterday, but not gaining weight at all. I also believe he was older than what I was told in the old neighborhood. He passed peacefully with Tony at his side, as I was away at the moment. He is back with Bond now. My boys. (Pic from a couple of months ago)

So. Some news on the Duchess front. I was able to touch her twice last night without getting smacked. Tonight, I had to kind of reach under her to grab Guy. She was... trepidatious, but, she didn't smack me. Whew! Baby steps!

Duchess.... Duchess was and is to be my litmus test. It's like something finally clicked in her little kitty brain that I'm not going to hurt her. She's really started coming closer to me every time I go in there. And talking more, hissing WAY less. I always worry, at the start, that I'm going to fail. But.... she's showing me that maybe I won't. Tonight she walked up right beside me, looked up at me, and started talking. I'm not ready to try petting her, but, at least she knows I'm not going to hurt her.

Just a picture for tax. We had a HUGE breakthrough tonight. I went in to their room just to sit with the girls for a bit. Duchess was on the chair. She got down and came to about a foot in front of me and sat down and started talking. And when I had the 3 girls on my lap, she came over beside me and just sat down and watched them play on my lap. We're getting somewhere!
