adoptions to homes we feel are improper. Guinea pigs/Cavies are first and foremost our pets; their health and happiness is our main priority. They are handled daily and live in spacious enclosures with plenty of room to roam and live long happy lives. Lunkarya guinea pigs are a rare breed developed in Sweden. They are known for their rough, sheep-like coat texture. Several of our parents were imported from Canada from European lines. Though not recognized by the American Cavy Breeder Association (ACBA) as a unique breed yet, they are lovely pets with docile personalities. Texel guinea pigs are a recognized ACBA breed in the United States and are known for their curly coats. They have long, fluffy spiral curls that spring out and cover the entire body, including the belly region. Texels are calm, sweet-natured, and patient. Teddy guinea pigs are also a recognized ACBA breed. They have a Short, dense, plush coat that is resilient to the touch and "stands up." Even though this breed has short hair, the Teddy pig needs daily attention to its thick coat to remove tangles, mats, and debris before they cause skin irritation. They tend to have much dryer skin than other cavies. Teddies are extremely friendly and love to spend time in human company, as well as with their cage mates.
