Adoption First Animal Rescue We are an animal rescue located in North Carolina! We specialize in pulling dogs and cats that are set to be euthanized at the local animal shelters.

We also run a pet pantry for those in need in our community. We are a nonprofit animal rescue based in Jacksonville, NC. We currently do dog and cat adoptions. Donations may be dropped off or mailed to our facility- at 114 Enterprise St Jacksonville. We are open daily 11-5:30.

Meet Ziggy, the sweetest, most soft-souled boy you’ll ever meet. At 6 years old, this handsome pitbull/boxer mix has been through more than any dog should—but through it all, his gentle heart has never changed.

Ziggy is calm, affectionate, and loves nothing more than being close to people. He leans in for slow pets, enjoys quiet company, and carries himself with the kind of kindness only a dog who truly appreciates love can have. Despite everything he’s endured, he still greets everyone with hope in his eyes.

He’s currently healing from significant skin issues and hair loss, and while he may not look his best yet, his spirit is absolutely beautiful. Ziggy is patient during his care, sweet with every handler, and so grateful for every bit of comfort he gets.

We are still pinching ourselves! Because of the incredible generosity of our sponsors and supporters, Adoption First Animal Rescue has successfully adopted out over 1,000 animals, saving them from euthanasia and giving them the second chances they deserve. 🧡
