The hardest part about animal rescue is being with them at the end of their journey. The past few days we have noticed one of our oldest members in the outdoor colony, starting to get a lot slower and more lethargic. Oreo has been with us since the start. He has fathered and/or fostered almost all of our indoor and outdoor family. By far one of the best and most loving cats I have ever had in my care. He deserved a loving home and spent many stormy nights at the foot of our bed, but always chose to go back to his street family the next morning. He is close to 13 years old now (by best estimate) and the street life combined with his age, is finally catching up with him. I'm keeping him with me today and until he takes his final breath. He has been by my side through some of the hardest times in my life and I will return the favor.

Kitten update:
Mama Blue and the babies all went for a wellness check and first round of shots today! Kitten #1 is 2.6 pounds, male with grey and white stripes and was negative for heart worm, but has worms (sent home with meds and scheduled for booster). Kitten #2 is also 2.6 pounds, also male and identical markings to his brother (twins), same test results and was also sent home with meds and scheduled for a booster. Kitten #3 (Runty), is 1.9 pounds female and has a bad upper respiratory infection so we only did the distemper vaccine for now (sent home with multiple meds and scheduled for a follow up). Kitten #4 (Phoenix) is 2.9 pounds and received a similar diagnosis to the other two boys (sent home with meds and scheduled for booster). Mama Blue is 8.6 pounds (was only 5.2 pounds when I brought her inside, while still pregnant) tested positive for heart worm, so we are doubling down on those meds and also treating her preventatively for round/hook worms. She is scheduled for follow up, spay and boosters, later this month. Everyone was treated for fleas and the babies will be scheduled to be fixed once everyone is healthy and puts a little more weight on. Still looking for homes for mama Blue and Kittens #1, #2, and #4... But I've grown quite attached to Kitten #3... My little Runty 🥰

Still desperately seeking homes for 3 teenage siblings, their mama, and her new litter (6 fuzz balls, ready to go in less than 2 weeks). They are growing like crazy and full of loving playful energy! Please contact Josh or myself if your interested in doing a meet and greet!
