There is a nasty rumor going around that we gave $10K to a man for fencing. This is not true and is now part of a list of lies being added to a court case for slander and libel. Watch spreading lies it could cost you 10k in the end

It’s is so awesome to have a great group of volunteers to help the animals of BCHP! Thank you, Tracy wines, Chastin Underwood, Nick Smith, Amber Bowen, Victor Bowen, and Tori Roth

Marvel went home for a week and two days. He does great with kids and adults but he didn't like his brother and he broke his momma's heart as she fell quickly in love with him. If you do not have a dog and want to give Marvel a try, please get in touch with us. He does not like other male dogs. We are unsure about females so it would be better to be the only dog in the home. Marvel is a sweetheart!

With the cold this year, we have had numerous calls regarding cats. We have several TNR groups and cat rescues in the area and I will tell you from this experience that these ladies deserve a huge THANK YOU! So thank you Diane Arigoni, Candace Fleagane, Angela Hatfield, Rebecca Ziegler and Ashley Blinco!! You guys do great work helping the cats of the Ohio Valley! I have never met more dedicated people to a great cause. I do not think people realize how many hundreds of cats you have helped. Keep up the great work!

Just for clarification…. The story on the dog and what really happened are two totally different things. The dog was never left outside. That was the lie told to both MFPD and myself but the lady who brought the dog in. The whole story was a lie. We are in the process of sorting it out. The dog is in our care until we talk to our legal team on Monday. She will post more soon. Elizabeth Gorby was not the one that took him to the MFPD. The original owner was also not involved.

Exposure to winter's elements can be dangerous for our pets, causing chapped paws and itchy, flaking skin. In addition, chemicals from ice-melting agents can also pose a threat if licked off of bare paws. While you can take precautions at home to help protect your pets, it's important to make sure you've got all the winter supplies you may need and first aid supplies to assist your pet

UPDATE ON LOST GERMAN SHEPHERD IN WEIRTON AREA

Our shelter has been working closely with a specialized trapping team to bring a loose German Shepherd to safety. The dog has been on the loose in the Weirton area for a week, braving the freezing temperatures.

As the situation becomes increasingly critical, we urge everyone's help in bringing this dog to safety (just maybe not in the way you think--please read all the below).

PLEASE BE AWARE: This dog is in survival mode and should NOT be approached. Attempts to chase or follow her have put her at risk of danger, including being chased into traffic.

If you spot her, PLEASE DO NOT:
- Follow or chase her
- Post sightings publicly
- Try to catch her yourself

Instead, CALL/TEXT 412-303-4337 IMMEDIATELY. This direct line will alert the trapping team, ensuring a swift and safe response.

Time is of the essence, and every minute counts. Let's work together to bring this dog to safety!

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Does anyone recognize this dog? It was found in this cage outside an abandoned house on Cemetary Road in Martins Ferry late last night around 11pm. If a Good Samaritan had not seen it, it would have froze to death!!! Please call Martins Ferry Police Dept or Belmont County Hoof & Paw 610-314-5203 with any information

If you won’t bring your pet into your home, you shouldn’t have them and you’re an A$$hole!
Please bring your pets inside to stay warm. It’s too cold for any breed to be outside.

01/21/2025

The next 72 hours is critical for animals. It is a felony to leave companion animals outside to suffer!

01/21/2025

We need a couple Good Samaritans to go around with straw and put it in boxes of dogs who have irresponsible owners.
Any takers? We only have three HO’s to cover a county full of irresponsible owners
