As someone that does pet sitting for dozens of families, please be careful with who you trust your babies with.. this is awful. Reposting with the business info:

I am posting this today with a heavy heart. We had a family trip planned for the holiday weekend and needed to use dog boarding for two dogs. We had a family friend refer the boarder in the picture stating she had used this business prior and with positive comments. We scheduled our dogs to be there from the evening of 07/03/2024-07/07/2024. Sadly on 07/05/2024 at 1:30 a.m. we received a text message one of our dogs had died. We received no explanation.

We returned that day to get our dogs. When we arrived to pick up the dogs, there was no explanation and no show of empathy. As I carried the deceased dog away to leave I only got a “BYE”.

We immediately took the deceased dog to Hearts of Texas Animal Hospital. There were no signs of our Shih Tzu being attacked by another dog. He was a 2.5 year old healthy dog when we dropped him off with the provider. Once at the hospital he were able to view our other dog in the light. She lost significant weight, in only few days. She was shaking, and terrified of strangers especially men. She was even apprehensive with me and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. We had her blood work done and she was extremely dehydrated. She had spots on her elbows that were red, missing hair. Her paws were red, and sensitive to touch. It’s now been almost 48 hours since picking her up. She is hydrated, and eating. Mentally she is still traumatized from whatever she experienced with this provider. She will not go outside on her own to the yard I believe out fear being locked outside longer then she should be. She is a bulldog mix, she was able to withstand being outside for days. Unfortunately a Shih Tzu not able to handle being in the Texas heat as long.

I am posting this for a few reasons.

1. I don’t ever want anyone else to experience what we have the last 48 hours. It’s one thing to lose an animal to a medical condition. It’s another to lose them to negligence of someone like this.
2. I have contacted Pflugerville Police, Travis County Sheriff, Pflugerville animal control. While empathetic they state it’s a civil matter and nothing they can do. I believe this provider has gotten away with this negligence due to lack of accountability over dog boarding providers.
3. We’re are considering all legal alternatives at this point to ensure accountability. We have identified five dog owners currently that have had similar experiences with this provider. If anyone has used this business and had similar experiences please send me a direct message. I believe there may be others who have used this provider, had similar experience, and felt like the city/county are not going to do anything so they just let it go.

I apologize for the long post, but as we all love our pets I feel like we should make each other aware of dangerous animal care businesses like this.
