You have probably heard this over and over but, dogs can sense your energy. They can tell when you are excited, nervous, or scared, so it’s important to control your thoughts and emotions when you are raising a puppy or adult dog.

Sweet GSD looking for her forever home!!!!

Let's find her a home for the howlidays! She has noticed all of her friends are leaving for their furever homes and she hasn't had anyone even come meet her. 😭
She is a 4 yr old German Shepherd. She came to us after a life of breeding.
She is crate and potty trained. Very loyal and friendly. She is also excellent off leash!!
She has been around many dogs, but does best with larger dogs. She is okay with smaller dogs as long as there are proper introductions.
She is used to farm dog life and is great with all livestock, but we are open to all type of homes for her!
Let's share her far and wide so she gets her Christmas wish!
If you're interested in loving this girl furever, please fill out an application at this link!

Available for adoption:

Hazel is a medium “Moyen” Poodle or doodle mix with a poodle hair cut. She is around 40lbs, spayed, current on vaccines and hoping to have a home for the holidays. Shes available though our rescue partner Country Acres Safe Haven.

💥💥💥 UPDATE 💥💥💥 this sweet girl has found her furever home!

Reposting Hazel!

She was hoping to have her furever home by Thanksgiving, but that has come and gone. She is the only one left out of her friends who were surrendered at the same time as her. She is very loving and is hoping that her Christmas wish will come true!

She is a 3 yr old moyen size poodle mix. She weighs in right around 40lbs. She was surrendered to us when her breeder was finished using her for breeding.

She is great with other dogs. Friendly and loving especially once she knows you!

Courtesy Post

CJ is an adorable Boxer puppy (7 months old). He is the sweetest boy ever and loves everyone he meets (people and dogs). He could spend all day playing with his foster fur sibling or snuggling with his foster mom.

CJ has Diabetes Insipidus (NOT the same as Diabetes). Please research this condition before applying for him. DI (Diabetes Insipidus) causes CJ to drink a lot of water and to urinate large amounts frequently. He has made huge improvements with treatment but this is a lifelong disorder. CJ needs meds twice a day to lessen his thirst and urination. His ideal home will have a doggie door (he uses one in his foster home) with a securely fenced in yard.

If you are interested in meeting CJ and have researched his condition, please submit an adoption application. We know this is a big commitment for an adopter but CJ will give all his love in return and he is totally worth it.

Meet and greets for approved adopters will be by appointment. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a dog application which can be found at http://fallstonanimalrescue.org/adopt/ and e-mail it to [email protected].

RAISING DOG FRIENDLY CHILDREN
Teach children to be dog friendly before teaching dogs to be child friendly

I’m often asked - “How can I make my dog more child friendly?”

The question really should be - “How can I make my child more dog friendly?”

Children don’t come with an inborn ability to know how to treat dogs. It’s up to us to teach them.

I’m amazed that there aren’t more dog bites considering how often I see children treating dogs like stuffed toys.

If you think about it, dogs are actually amazingly tolerant and patient with people even when their attempts to communicate through their body language, that they’re really uncomfortable, are completely ignored or not understood.

As parents, it’s an important responsibility to teach our children about how to respect and behave around dogs.

Always supervise children and dogs, even if a dog seems relaxed and friendly.

💫 New beginnings are on the horizon! 💫

Over 6 years ago, the founder of our chapter, Jamie, started volunteering her time to a rescue in North Carolina where her sister lives and Jamie frequently visits. Rottweilers have always been near and dear to her heart. Arranging transport and transporting animals herself, Jamie developed her own network in the rescue community here in Maryland and PA. Over time, she acquired enough support to care for animals and find them loving homes locally, giving rise to ARRF, Maryland- while still coordinating care and sharing resources with our roots in NC.
As our intake continues to grow (receiving and placing upward of 100 dogs so far in 2023), along with our network of fosters, rescue partners, veterinary care and other volunteers, the management of administrative duties and all of the moving parts required to successfully manage a rescue long distance becomes more of a challenge. For this reason, and with great pride, we are excited to announce our transition to Lazy Days Rescue Inc., an independent, (soon to be) 501c3 rescue organization based out of Harford County, Maryland.
The name was chosen as many of our dogs are “retired” from a tough life of breeding. Sadly, not long ago, “retirement” meant automatic euthanasia of otherwise healthy, loving animals. Unfortunately, sometimes it still does. While we strongly advocate against the culture of puppy mills and overbreeding, the industry astonishingly continues to thrive. And while we cannot control the unethical practices of the people who choose to keep this industry alive, we can, however, create a better life for the animals who had no choice in the matter. Our mission is for the rest of these animals’ lives to be “the lazy days”, which anyone who has ever loved a pet can recognize as the best days with their furry pals- snuggling on a couch, rolling in green grass…the simple things many of these dogs have never had the chance to do.
We would like to take a moment to express our many thanks to Atlantic Rottweiler Rescue Foundation Inc, who has graciously shared their resources, provided endless support and guidance in navigating the challenging world of rescue… and igniting the flame to start this new adventure.

Cheers to new beginnings 🍻

PS: Beau Brown is our Lazy Days Mascot! Formal introduction to follow!

Mufasa is looking for his forever hammock buddy! He is a 1 year old male standard poodle.
He is scheduled to be neutered in the next week.
Mufasa loves other animals and take a few minutes to warm up to people. He seems to be a fan of men more so than women. Mufasa is good with dogs, both large and small. He will be available after his neuter. If you’re interested in Mufasa please apply at https://www.arrfnc.com/info/adoption
